Looks like not all MBB CS are aware of this latest news of card cancellation. I just called to cancel my M2C Visa card but CS said if cancel Visa, have to cancel Amex too since both the cards come in one package. So I informed him to refer to his supervisor for latest update on M2C card cancellation tnc. He did and came back on the line to tell me my Visa card will be cancelled with immediate effect and Amex retained

can just cancel the m2c master? i thought is bundle together.

My card anniversary is Sept n it's already billed in statement, do I have to pay the SST too if wanna cancel the Visa? 😥

OMG! Now Maybank allow to cancel Visa/Master for M2Card. Why not they subsidise RM25 upon request for M2Card? Better than people cut the Visa/Master...

Subsidize == MBB has to fork out the $$$

It’s the less fancy card. It would be a waste for them to subsidize because they know ppl seldom use it.

This Visa can earn TP. If cancel I only left FCB which can earn cashback but no TP or Cashback after reach the max. 80% will cut later.

I rather keep the FCB rather than this useless Visa/Mastercard which only offers 1x TP.

similar case to you, i requested visa to be change to master and the master was approved the day SST charged to my visa card
now not sure whether master will be charged additional RM25, but CS did say if master being charged RM25, they will absorb the RM25 in the visa

maybe tomorrow try to call cs see can cancel and not pay the SST or not, else keep it for another year

Or you need to spend RM10,000 in order to cover the RM25 tax. Cancel it better~

Rebranding the card is totally unnecessary, and costs money to bank. We do not want that to happen, as it may impact the features of credit card.

Most important of all, 5% weekend cashback and 5x everyday Treatpoints of Maybank 2 Card American Express must be retained, because that are the key features we all desire.

Similar to Public Bank Quantum MasterCard and Quantum Visa credit card, Maybank can still offer both Maybank 2 Card American Express and Visa / MasterCard to any potential cardholder. However, the cardholders have the right to obtain 2 cards, or just Maybank 2 Card American Express only.

M2 near 8 years old, already a mature and retiring item. The cards can be unbundled now, so no different from Maybank Amex Gold/Platinum card. 5%+5TP scheme will not last for too long.

Need to wait how long before i need to call CS to remove the card from MB2U?

My Ikhwan is still shown after cancelled more than a month!

few weeks back i terminated both Ikhwan cards, both were removed from m2u in 1 week time.

My MBB cards cancelled in 2009 and Ikhwan cards cancelled in 2011 still in m2u.
I asked m2u cs to clear them, but they requested me to visit a Maybank branch to remove them.

Like what I said b4, I think last time they absorb 1 of the card sst, but now since they don't absorb, they can't force ppl to hold 2 cards. Guess it will be non compliance. But like ClarenceT said, they might remove the amex features since they also have individual amex card.

just called Maybank to transfer my BT (still have 1 last installment) in M2C Visa --> M2C Amex. will be reflected in next statement, which is normal and expected.

will call in again later at night after my eSI kicks-in to pay M2C Visa outstanding, then terminate the M2C Visa straightaway.
