Unlikely in the near future, but someone has to pay for those benefits, and from the info I have it's Amex which is paying for it, not MBB. That money won't last forever.

More interesting (for me) is who is paying for the Barcelona benefits, but my source refuse to say =)

No way Barcelona or MU pay to Maybank / card user!
Maybank has to pay Barcelona / MU to be their partner!
Or course, the CC might be just a small fraction in their nego with the football giants.

Actually, don't you think it's the merchants paying for it? That's why a lot don't carry Amex.

You can try, should be OK. They will resend you a new card if you have destroyed yours.

Merchants pay a fixed fee as a percentage of transactions (in addition to cost of machine, depending on your size). This is publicly available information, and AMEX is no longer anymore expensive in terms of that fee since Bank Negara enforced a fixed fee for all credit cards.

That fee cannot cover your 5% at all. Just about covers the 5x points, and that's not including other costs involved (administration etc)

Supp card SST=RM25. Same as principal card. Supp card shares same cashback pool.
Why don't you look for other cashback card?

Have make a called to cs but seem like busy, no person attend to my call.

Usually call to Visa Signature or Platinum line is fast, not sure is it because a lot of people calling to cancel the card

done..asked me if i want to continue use the card, as the charges will start on mar 2019...told her to cancel now..scared later they remove this 1 card cancellation..mati lor...

Card still keep well. Let me consider twice before make decision.

Well, my intentions is to keep 1 spare card for my wife, and can pay Management fee. If i can cancel Visa, then i can consider activate back my Barcelona supp card which serve all the purpose i want.

Ya. in term of SST amount, i still paying the same in total. I cancel 1, activate back 1. She is not working at the moment, and we hardly hit the CB quota unless the 10% mths..

Feel bad to do, but not all my mistake. Is the initial policy make me have such decision, just never aspect they will be so kind to change the policy.... let me reconsider

Maybank is the master franchisee for American Express in Malaysia and is also now the sole issuer for AMEX in Malaysia, previously Hong Leong Bank offered AMEX too but had discontinued a few years ago. Citibank briefly issued PremierMiles in AMEX and had also discontinued the product and is now issuing VISA Signature instead.

As for who is paying the benefits that come with the card ? The bank is actually and they get the allocation or money from the interests or late payment fees earned from 90% of credit card holders who always owe Maybank money.

For Maybank2Kard AMEX benefits that isn't true. Money isn't from MBB.

I read it is more like 4:2:4 whereby 40% pay on time, 20% pay minimum and 40% can't pay.
