Is it right that the SST is charged based on expiry month and not card issue month?

If i refer to Guideline from custom quoted below:

Cards issued before 1 September 2018 and valid for several years Service tax shall be imposed on the date of renewal and every 12 months after the renewal date.

Example 3
A new credit card is issued on 18 May 2018 with a validity period for five years. The issuer of the credit card shall impose a service tax in every monthly statement covering 18 May 2019, 18 May 2020, 18 May 2021 and 18 May 2020.

My case is very weird:
Card A - approved on Nov 16 - expiry month Nov
Card B - approved on Oct 17 - expiry month Oct
Card C - approved on Jun 18 - expiry month Oct

Card A & B expiry month follow card approval month, but, Card C follow Card B expiry.

But, mbb didn’t follow approval date, for my case, card c approved in Jun, but card expiry date is Oct, only card A & B expiry date on card follow approval date

If u go in to the shop to pay, then it won’t pre-authorised RM200, it is pay as per ur total pump

Yeah, I also planned to cancel my m2cards, not worth to pay RM50 when I only use one card and not all easy to get merchant who accept amex.. I gonna pay off all the ongoing BT b4 cancel the cards.. luckily no early settlement for BT

If I’ve TP 5k at card A, 5k at Card B, can I use the 2 cards TP to redeem card C SST?

I need to transfers my BT from VISA to Amex too.. I Usenet visa to monitor my BT repayment.. if they allow to cancel visa, I will just transfer to AMEX

Like what I said b4, I think last time they absorb 1 of the card sst, but now since they don't absorb, they can't force ppl to hold 2 cards. Guess it will be non compliance. But like ClarenceT said, they might remove the amex features since they also have individual amex card.

Me: I want to transfer my BT installment from m2visa to m2amex
Cs: reason?
Me: I plan to cancel m2visa
Cs: when u want to cancel?
Me: next month
Cs: u need to cancel now only I can help to transfer the BT to amex
Me: ok, please proceed to cancel and transfer BT installment
Cs: what is the reason?
Me: I don’t want to pay SST
CS: understand, will proceed to terminate with immediate effect and please settle the outstanding today, BT installment will be transfer to AMEX within 5 working days.

Even outstanding amount that posted in ur card now also can transfer? Coz my case is outstanding balance posted need to settle on day of cancellation, anyway, I’ve paid off

I believe it will charge again in March 2019.. this Maybank policy/ system is not right as they set it that SST is to be charged on credit card expiry month. But, their expiry date not follow issue month.

So, mean they will charge u again in March 2019 for ur newly upgraded card in October.. if I’m u, I won’t upgrade the card, no different to hold gold or platinum..

Just curious why can’t use the card when they r just replacing with contactless card.. last time when we receive those paywave/ contactless card Pin n Pay card time also never block existing card?

Or maybe because the reason for replacement is due to card / chip faulty?

Ur case Should be ur m2u profile not updated or not complete.. just try to apply via email to them with supporting documents

With this, mean if ur existing card expiry date is Jan, n u apply new card and activated in Nov, u will have to pay SST twice within 2 months.. upon activation & anniversary month. Really speechless with this

I just feel the approach is not right as the expiry date shoulnd't be treated as anniversary month as the expiry date doesnt follow card issue date.
