Implementation of Sales Service Tax (SST)

Dear Valued Cardmembers,

Please be informed that an annual Service Tax of RM25 will be imposed on all Credit and Charge Cards effective 1 September 2018. This is in accordance with the Service Tax Act 2018.

Cardmembers may opt to pay the Service Tax using Maybank Points. Service Tax redemption can be made once it has been reflected in Cardmembers card statement.

Cardmembers may redeem through these channels:

- Complete the TreatsPoints redemption form / Membership Rewards redemption form and email it to maybankrewards@maybank.com.my
- Walk-in to any Maybank Card centres or branches.
- Call us at Maybank Group Customer Care as per telephone number at the back of your card.

Terms & Conditions:

- Service Tax RM25 redemption is equivalent to 10,000 TreatsPoints/Membership Rewards
- Service Tax redemption can only be made once it is reflected in the Cardmembers’ card statement.
- Cardmembers are allowed to redeem limited to the number of Principal and Supplementary Cards under his/her account.

I have a question...Is it confirmed that Maybank 2 card will have 2x RM25 SST charges for the 2 cards?

If I remember correctly, pre-GST time, the 2 cards only subjected to 1x RM50 SST.

If now is 2x RM25 SST, can we cancel the visa/master card that we usually won't use?

can just cancel the m2c master? i thought is bundle together.

Requirement is RM60k per annum, not RM5k per month.
So your Form BE 2018 shows your gross income >RM60k, you are eligible.

Why would you want to upgrade since the 5% rebate only apply to RM1000 spending.

new card's expiry month is same as old card's?

From my experience in 2011, when I took up M2C Platinum in March 2011. I was charged SST when I activated the cards but not on 15-10-2011, as the expiry month is under the same fiscal year.

So you get charged for new card in April 2019 but most likely not again on 15-11-2019 (same fiscal year), your next SST will be on 15-11-2020.

Customs shall collect SST once only per fiscal year. But SST 2.0 maybe different from SST 1.0.

If i cancelled M2C Visa, left only M2C Amex, i want to upgrade my my M2C Amex to platinum, would I get two card or only card which is Amex?

already charged 2nd time meh? wait first la.

info from cs may not be correct as they may not know completely how the actual billing of sst works.

No panic, even charge for two times, you can easily “earn” back from the rebate and also can offset from TreatPoint

Hi everyone...I just got the M2C...and i tried called 3 times to different CS I guess...And asked for canceling on Master card with the reason SST as stated in this thread previously but still failed...? Any member here canceled their master or visa card only in this two months? Just wondering if i can get any advises what reason or tricks to get it canceled?

Would we be able to get cashback if we topup boost using amex?

if its under utilities, it will means that if u topup boost using Amex u wont be getting any CB, only treatpoints in weekdays?
sigh, just when i though can explore the use of boost to get the Amex CB..

finally got my plat m2c.. if i plan to use only amex, can i just activate amex and not the visa? will SST apply on my visa?
