Dumb Maybank and/or Gov

Since M2C comes by default with two cards and we have no option to keep only one of it, it shld be treated as a single product/card for the purposes of credit card tax.

Now it seems like to have pay RM 50 x 2

If you don't like the M2 Pair cards, you can always switch to stand-alone Amex card.

U sure higher credit limit is healthier? If there is no negative impact I'll just leave it, else will request to revert back to previous credit limit.
*
You can request to cut your credit limit anytime by sending a letter to Maybank card centre.
You may get irritating calls from bank officers offering you personal loan, balance transfer etc as you have high CL and under-utilised. Luckily Maybank is not that aggressive calling cardholders.

5% Weekend rebate?
Doesn't matter, already calculated and will be posted today. You can see the rebate tomorrow morning.

We can use TP earn from amex to waive the other card also right? No only amex?
*
Should be ok, if following old rule.
But for me, RM25 and 10k TP are equivalent.

M2 cards was "selling" like a hot cake when it was launched in March 2011. Service tax RM50 didn't stop people like me taking up the cards at that time.

Those were the good old days never to be repeated cos MBB realised the power of LYN. rclxm9.gif After that most campaigns based on luck which I hardly participated.

I look beyond the monthly rebate... Maybank cards offer discount on Lazada, Shopee, dining places, air tickets etc.
So RM75 cost per year (3 Maybank cards) to keep the benefits still a good investment.

You are correct on the jompay transaction amount which i did not get for CB. Btw this is not stated on amex2 cards Tnc, right?
Just called the CS. They will log report for me to escalate the missing CB for 3 jompay transactions as they dont find the tnc for jompay. Let’s see after 5 working days.

And regarding the min RM1 CB, i still get it for the transaction below RM20. CS read it for me, transaction RM18.3 entitled for RM0.91 CB.
Probably it meant for monthly earned CB has to be above RM1 to entitle CB?
*
Technically Jompay/FPX is not a Amex transaction.
Jompay/FPX don't use Amex network so the merchants/beneficiary never pay the Amex fee.
Jompay/FPX is a fund transfer service managed by Bank Negara and Banks in Malaysia.
As new M2U platform just allowed you to use Amex account for Jompay/FPX, Maybank may have overlooked to add this exclusion for M2 Amex. This exclusion is clearly stated for Visa/Mastercard.

I just checked my Amex card rebate transaction and calculate.

There's one transaction i made on 4th August (Saturday) which is Digi bill payment tru Jompay doesnt reflect the 5% cashback?

Is Jompay not entitle for it? I check the T&C it doesnt mention that restriction.

If you don't mind explaining, what situation would make the anniversary date be different from the card expiry?
*
Eg
My CIMB, card expiry 12/xx, but service tax were charged on 2x January. (2010-2015)
My RHB, first card expiry 08/xx, during Chip&PIN exercise, my new card expiry 09/xx.

when bank will charge SST for CC? is based on expiry date of the card?
Since my card until 2021 so not necessary to pay for now right?

only for new application after 1st September or card renewal.
"KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 — A service tax of RM25 will be imposed on either new credit card users or those who renew their credit cards from September 1 onwards, the finance minister has ordered."
*
Your card anniversary date every year, not your card expiry/renewal date.

mbb's sst charging is based on EXPIRY MONTH. your "2021" is the year, not the month.

refer FAQ: https://www.maybank2u.com.my/iwov-resources...ardsSST_FAQ.pdf

i've double-confirmed this with MBB CS few mins ago.

new card: SST charged immediately, and subsequently anniversary based on expiry month.
existing card: based on expiry month, including all subsequent cards that follows the 1st card's expiry month.
*
A particular day of the expiry month, not on 1st day or the last day of the expiry month.

based on my checking with MBB, yes

if you look at your Card B and Card C, the expiry month/year actually follows Card A's expiry month/year.

for SST, it'll be based/tracked from card's expiry month, and then the SST RM25/card will be charged on the 15th of that expiry month.
my problem with this method is for new card.

Card A: expiry month March. to be imposed SST on March 2019.
New Card D: applied this month Sep 2018, SST imposed immediately, but the expiry month follows Card A's expiry month on March.

What will happen in March 2019 for Card D then?  hmm.gif  confused.gif
*
My case in 2011.
M2 approved in 03/2011 but card expiry 10/XX, Service tax charged in 04/2011, No service tax charged in 10/2011, subsequent ST charged in 10/2012.

SO I assume if under same calendar year, SST charged once only.

Never think that the M2 Visa/MC is a rubbish. It helps me to save/gain a lot of cashback/discount.

Must learn from u on this, cos my m2Visa was used only for BT application.

1 BT RM1800 @ 0% and 12 months can earn more than RM25.

Again, 100% CB at 2014-15, I already earned the credit to pay 100 years Card ST. You were also one of the winners getting a few thousand RM. To win the game, most of the time must use Visa/MC as Amex were not widely accepted, and avoid weekends due to the crowds (my strategy). biggrin.gif

This time MBB charges differently.

Last time: RM 50 for AMEX. Visa/Mastercard waived.
This time: RM 25 for AMEX and another RM 25 for Visa/Mastercard.
*
Last time: Visa/Mastercard RM50. Amex RM50 paid by Maybank.

But seems unlikely to happen....

I don't wish...

I don't play BT, but now I decide to BT RM5k-6k at 0% and 12 months, I will earn >RM75 to "fund" the service tax for 3 Maybank cards. wub.gif
