There are four models for the Poco F1 announced during its launch in India. The first model is a 6GB/64GB model priced at INR 20,999 (about RM 1,233) as mentioned earlier while the 6GB/128GB model goes for INR 23,999 (RM 1,409).
There is also the 8GB/256GB model which carries a price tag of INR 28,999 (RM 1,703) sticker price and for the premium Armoured Edition, it can be obtained at INR 29,999 (RM 1,762).
No point spend more than RM1.7K when the phone gets old after 6 months... POCO F2 in the making edy... Next year March we get F2... September got F3...
So, better get cheap but "powerful" phones for short term "investments" ...
POCO = Pick Or Caused Over-regret... POCO = Please Omit Cheap Options...

I guess ois Is not included in the spec, right? Oh well, can't complain much since the price is justified for a SD 845 phone!
4-Axis OIS included... Another reason to award this bugger "The All-in-One Phone Killer of 2018/2019"...forget about flagship killer... It's All-in-One now...

GSMArena full review up. Nope, no OIS. Just EIS (and yes I trust these guys). Also apparently the frame is supposedly metal painted plastic, and headphone output isn't quite up to par... and no NFC (which nobody here probably uses anyway).
Otherwise, they liked it enough to nearly max out the stars they gave it. Hell, who wouldn't love a $300 845 phone, value proposition is just ludicrous.

Like I said, normal folk never really use it anyway lol, so it probably won't matter. 845/8GB does though.
I personally need NFC though to check the balance on my Icoca/Suica cards (amongst many other things), but I'm not looking for a new phone anytime soon myself lol. Just sticking around to see the ongoing results of Xiaomi's interesting little (which is actually what Poco means in Spanish) experiment here.
That said that launcher is pretty dope though. Categorising apps by colour? That's some crazy shit right there Xiaomi and I like it.

Even I don't even use that feature much on my Motorola... Perhaps it might be useful on Samsung Pay or one-touch pairing of accessories, but not much else for me. It's nice to have, but certainly not a mandatory feature.
Anyway, I heard that they are bringing this locally - I wonder how much would that be for the top-end 8GB/256GB model

The whole phone was directed towards emerging markets - NFC is not much of utility in emerging countries. Of course, the price/performance ratio is pretty much unprecedented for 2018, and the inclusion of power-user friendly features such as expandable memory, headphone jack and a large battery makes up the lack of NFC

I highly doubt the targeted customer will use this phone to drive high-end headphones - this is not an audiophile-centric phone
Of course, those who owns regular earphones won't need to worry about that

Plastic Fantastique No Oleophobic Layer F1? Naaaah I'll pass. Not that I'm rocking a #papan9 myself anyway lol.
I'm actually kinda anxious just thinking of the internal compromises that Xiaomi has had to take to produce a phone with those specs, being sold for that kinda money lol. I mean, OEMs are many things but needlessly generous they have never really been.

Tagged you guys in this thread instead coz it didn’t exist yet last night when I posted, haha. Yeah, this reminds me of OnePlus when they first started. Maybe that’s their strategy, start with low price then gradually increase coz it’s clear they are going after OnePlus with this range of phones. That said, they’ll kill the Zenfone 5z (and probably their own Mi 8) if the prices launched in India is indicative of what we will get here.

Or they might just kill, you know, Honor lol. Imma thinking OP has already carved enough of a niche for themselves already as a "premium sub-flagship" (yeah, lol I know), but that's prolly just me.
BUT Honor? Yeah tough luck justifying the purchase of anything remotely on the higher price range from those folks now, though looking at their seemingly humongous Ad budgets, the main brand Huawei seems pretty safe... for now.

Yeah, the OP developer community is pretty strong so maybe Poco hopes to achieve this too by starting with low prices. I personally feel the Honor range is a little overpriced for what it offers, and the gap of the flagship Honor and Mate series tends to close pretty fast. Anyways, interesting to see how disruptive the Poco series will be to the premium segment especially after Customs just proposed a sales tax on smartphones.

NFC is necessary for future of cashless e-wallet society.
kinda like Samsung Pay that works almost everywhere because normal POS can read NFC

Want small bezels but got notch = complain Want big bezels with no notch = complain Want small bezels and no notch but got moving mechanical camera = complain
Go get a life man.
If want small bezels + no notch + no moving camera parts = I think after 5 years OEMs able to research this phone out.
With this cooling technology in pocophone, I am excited to see any teardown on how the actual cooling pipe structure is and also the heat dissipation reliability which will help to prolong the phone life span.

not surprised since this phone already passed SIRIM, iirc...
It all depends on which tech is used by the retail shop, and which is more interesting or affordable for the retail shop to subscribe to. They aren't exactly free with no fees attached. It can hv all the convenience but if no retailers are using it, it is not available.
Wow...from eyeing Nova 2i < M1 max pro < RN5 < Mi A2 <Mi8 < Poco F1........from RM599 - RM1.5k (I know there are more choices for that price range) but how many can you really keep abreast with all the comments and users reviews...lol

They don't have to source for super amoled . Even the lowest amoled -> highest lcd. And I think ppl won't mind paying another additional 200-300rm , the current price tag is really cheap.

Haha, who uses Samsung Pay nowadays? Better use Boost. Even mamak got Boost.
Not all places accept boost. But majority place with terminal accepts samsung pay. no need to key in anything. Just swipe up, finger print authentication then tap on the terminal. its easy as abc. plus there's plenty of stuff to redeem.

Samsung Pay is not a card. It's just a card holder similar to you holding your card in your wallet. You must be the only person I know who doesn't use any type of card holder or card in wallet or purse etc.
Basically whole phone is plastic except the screen. You are basically buying the specs only for this phone.
It's actually not bad, and probably the right way to go, especially the kevlar back. You see most phone casing does not feel like metal or glass anyway (so called premium materials). If I were to buy this phone, I don't need any casing. I had the Dupont carbon kevlar in my OP5T before. It feels damn good.

Yalo.. ppl always wanted metal back or glass back to look premium..
But in the end..All use casing to cover it..

Are the pictures shot using Dslr camera instead of the phone camera like the recent Huawei scandal?
For the untrained eye, most wouldn't even be able to differentiate a 20mp photo and a DSLR. And you wouldn't even mind with the quality of photos nowadays being highly acceptable in good lightning conditions.
But these companies wanna top one another. In the end resorting to fake advertisement misleading consumers.
Not sure how they justify losing consumer confidence in their brand when exposed.

But they claim to be a flagship killer! Thats the point. It is definitely not a flagship killer. It is a good midranger. Exceeds many mid range devices but not a flagship device
It's a killer in terms of "performance" but not features...
It's like we put Tesla engine/tech into Proton Perdana... Got power to blast zero to sixty in less than 3 seconds and environment friendly too but inside the Perdana no futuristic features like autonomous driving, remote parking, remote self-start, etc...
But not for long...

Before upgrading the Gear S3 firmware, it paired with Sammy Note5. After upgraded & paired with non-Sammy devices, the experience is exactly the same. We can even use SPay on the Gear S3 without any phones but limited to 10 transactions.
Can gain & redeem points as usual... But nowadays, the redeem items are pathetic & very high points imposed for "hot" items...
Success rate is depending on the cashier and not terminal... Malaysian cashiers are "primitive" even I myself have to educate & train the cashiers on how to use the credit card terminals... LOL... For those cashiers edy recognized my face, they just simply launch the credit card terminals as usual... It's only the first attempt to convince these "primitive" cashiers that's very challenging... Once they see the action, they start to ask many questions and understand how it works in the end.

Lol, if Xiaomi keep on saying wan kill flagship, won't they be killing their flagship mi8 and mi mix series??
Anyway, sorry to hijack, why do you recommend Asus phones. What's the good choice from Asus now and why? Are they as bang for the buck? Sorry ah, I don't really follow Asus phones, but last time was interested in their earlier zenfones
its a mi8 less the nice body isnt it? for that they might take out RM300 maybe 400. its a fair deal. but i rather buy a mi8 that looks better. Whatever... it will still beat my S8 battery life

I think it will be veeeery close to 1st Sept before they start to slap the SST on it.
Definitely. So that people will be queing, rushing, buying i the last minute!! Attempting to make a big hype before SST kicks in.

As a user of the Max Pro M1 (and also the TS, hehe), I can tell you without hesitation that the only two good points of that phone is the price (if you managed to buy it at RM599 for the 3/32 version during flash sale) and the battery life. In all other aspects, I would recommend the RN5 over it.
I am not sure offering a glass edition would actually be called luxury. If by your definition, then OnePlus is a luxury phone then
What he meant was the premium feeling of glass la, which is true based on its history in phone construction and what manufacturers trying to make us perceive that way.
Before glass, they used aluminium due to the rigid feeling in hand. Glass and ceramic could give the same feeling + wireless charging (this is what sets high end flagship phones apart from budget flagships) + better signal reception. However, both of these are brittle and obviously do not have the same durability as aluminium or even plastic.

among the case, the one i really interested is the bamboo case released by motorola, before they gone bankrupt... this one really artistic and stand out differently

Is that the same manufacturer as Oneplus bamboo cover? The best case I ever had is the official OnePlus carbon kevlar bumper case, made by Dupont. Its the same one in Pocophone F1 kevlar edition. With that finishing, I think we don't need a phone case at all.

Actually the older Lumia phones had a very nice feel even though they were made of plastic (PC). Felt sturdy and more solid compared to the plastic of Samsung phones back in the day.

Eh... Nokia's polycarbonate was actually different than Samsung's plastic. It's more practical in the sense that we don't need a case.
camera ofcourse pixel 2 win lol. this phone purpose is not for the camera. people buy because cheap, high performance comparable with flagship phone that using same chipset.
actually aldy regret last time didnt grab 5z (6/128gb) at rm1699.
rather than now waiting for this cutthroat poco (6/64) 1599
Ahaks.. You really bringing an Asus phone into this conversation?
My Asus Zenfone 5 2013 died on me within the first month.
My dad refuse to listen to me and got one 5z after getting recommendation from his friend last month, the phone couldn't connect to Wifi after the first week. Kept restarting after 2 weeks. You have no idea how much a faulty phone can frustrate an old man.
He sold the phone at a loss and now using my stone age Note 3 and swore never an ASUS anymore.

So yes. Asus is cutthroat I agree.
i hv my own bad experience on xiaomi, on my first charging, not even 10mins... kua donno charger problem or phone problem, the cable smoke, spark, and melted. lucky im not sleeping tat time, else I'll b the first xiaomi's barbecued customer.
i also hv other lemon xiaomi unit, yet here im.
and many samsung note 7 customer also hv their own stories also... yet ppl now still queuing for note9.
im not saying it is good or not good... for me it is just QC problem
How can it be? Unless you did not factor in SST coming in September. Mi 8 Msia set is RM1599. Poco must be lower.
Don't be surprise of Poco F1 priced at RM12xx. If you remember by right Mi8 official price from direct convert is Rm16xx but Mi Malaysia sell it way below that price. So just finger cross and wait for official price announce.
Of course it will. It lacks Mi 8 4-axis OIS. If you can tolerate average camera. I think it is good to buy this phone.
Need to be more specific. Maybe your statement above would be more accurate if for example compared to SD8xx series flagship phone models. To be fair I think it beat SD6xx series phones.
Will it beat, say Mi A1? I have one of this...only Rm599.
Mi A1? Is already beat Mi A2. A lot of YouTube camera reviews comparison between A2 vs Poco F1 including those highlited by ppl here a few pages back before.
Confirm won't be cheaper than India. Secondly, it won't want to kill Mi 8 series that just launched here a week ago. Most probably RM1499 as based model.

6/64 at Rm 1237 6/128 at Rm 1428
okla ur 'confirm' still win la, but 1499 is way too high
adi have post from Mi Malaysia on top, from Mi Malaysia should legit right?
Yup, I did posted earlier than media is at their event now and waiting for good news. So now media and Mi Malaysia also posted up already the official price.

Give this man a medal. Predicted the price.
So how?
Pretty much a decent pricing for what it is offering. Not far from what the international market.
Hi guys. Just saw a youtube review and it claimed that this phone doesn't have oleophobic coating on the screen.
If it's true, then it's really a shame. Could be a deal breaker for people who plan to use this phone naked, especially those with greasy fingers. Of course, most people will just slap a SP on it and move on. Then it won't be a problem at all.

Again. For that price what more would u ask for. If want more of this n that n those then won't be at this price anymore and then start liao saying why so expensive la. Poco also announce at their event this Poco F1 mainly focus on performance for what user want only. Not so much of jack of everything and high end stuff cramped into a device then price sky high.

i donno u r seriously use oleophobic coating b4 or not...
Why? A2 still gets direct updates from Gugel. U get to taste new OS first than any other Mi phones and not to mention no bloatwares. Poco F1 have to wait for xiaomi to release and will only get Android Pie in 3 months time.

Would anyone pick pure Android over a SD845 device with 4000mAh battery AND a headphone jack?
Hell yeah...my kind of phone....dont care much about camera...as i use camera for occasion only...sd845, 4,000mah 6" screen ips...ultra on pubg...8gb ram 256gb multi tabs tasking, frequent travel with dual sims...and most important lte-a cat16...what more u wanna ask....try search in gsmarena in "advanced searching" minimum battery 4,000mah with highest sd845 available...see the result then tell me price vs spec which is better...😉 Btw with people asking how good is this phone with gps lock n signal....i believe any phone equip with snapdragon chipset wont have this kind of issue, i say the fastest and more than 15 sat lock...i'm previously a user of kirin & especially mediatek ...really suck on lockin gps even with the help of gps locking apps... Really hope Mi malaysia bring in 8GB ram poco...and it a bonus with kevlar version 😀

Update is overrated, considering such a big difference in hardware performance and minimal additional price.

Don't get me wrong. Actually I praised about this phone due to its price tag. And I do understand we can't ask for more. Just a bit shock to know that they don't put the oleophobic coating for this beast. Thought they should have it since it's more than 1 thousand ringgit. Not to mention it's a very basic thing. Even the super budget phone RN5 has it.

Don't know what you mean. Most of the smart phones nowadays do have oleophobic coating. It's a very common thing.

Yeah, exactly. Especially those who worked out 1199 for the 128GB Mi A2. Mi just killed the second hand value of the A2

The other thing to be aware of is that Mi is notoriously slow on updates, but as another user here aptly put it, Android updates are a little over-rated. Yeah, I'm waiting to see the Kevlar version as well.

Yea spot-on!...i rather have slow update but with very stable version instead off annoying quickfix bit by bit and having hp sudden reboot while replying important email....my experience with redmi 4 prime...never have those issue since i get it till now...

For the price tag cant expect too much , just like an upgrade version of RN5 which pack with SD845 , The display is from tianma NSTC 84% only
not only oleophobic coating , maybe others part cut cost as well

Poco is a Sub company of Xiaomi , the brand is poco not xiaomi xiaomi just help for selling & after sales service.
im waiting for my nexus 6p to die first then i will join the club. unless OP6T offers something better. planned to buy OP6 before but the glass back is a big NO for me since i had a bad experience with glass back phone.

Nexus 6P to POCO F1 is a huge jump in performance, OP6T is on another level, not fair to compare with POCO F1.
The current RRP is till 10 Sept, so still no hurry if wanna buy unless they are running out of stock. Not sure why it's not 1 Sept instead, but it's good for us.
Oneplus6 is not a great phone. The speakers are single speakers and the sound is not great.
Besides, the camera is average.
This pocofone has a better camera and better stereo speakers
Er...basically these are the two weakest parts of OP6. The camera can be overcome by using Gcam. Other than that, it's still a great phone. Hopefully OP6T would have dual speakers.

buy malaysia warranty set better, the warranty coverage is better.

Wait for 30th on Lazada.
Ok then, 2 more days How does it usually go with lazada msia? Does the phone go live exactly at exactly 12.01 am 30/08 like previous xiaomi phone (if any)
But that's an interesting point though. How easy do you guys think it'll be to get third party accessories like cases and screen protectors for Poco locally?
I checked, not much issues there for Malaysian bands. Except maybe Webe/YES, I'm not sure about those two.
If your planning to TRAVEL with the F1 however... Let's just say you're not gonna be as well served as with other more "global" phones.
But hey, $300 rite?
Talking about global version and gonna be soon malaysia version...what u guys think..are they gonna use same baseband version?or "tweak" to cater MCMC malaysian requirement?

The one spotted in SIRIM is M1805E10A, which is the global version based on this unboxing video(Dubai). Bands are 1,3,5,7,8,20,38,40,41 (phonedb) 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,17,20,34,38,39,40,41 (frequencycheck)
Either way it'll work with all (Maxis, Celcom, DiGi, U Mobile, Webe)
First impression: - the phone looks plasticky cheap, but the soft touch materials is nice. - the screen is natural n nice. White is true white. Better than my note 9 and u12+ display. But black is better on note 9 (obviously) and u12+ .. pocophone lcd bleed is noticeable on black display n in dark room. - the speaker is the loudest, but u12+ n note9 has better sound quality. - the rear camera definitely cant beat note9 and u12+ .. i have to wait for tomorrow to really test it out.

Yups.
Well some info...
1) The phone comes with black smokey transparent case or clear transparent case (either one).
2) not many bloatware installed in the unit. And all can be uninstalled.. facebook, word, excel, powerpoint, skype, lazada, outlook, booking.com, mi roaming, miui forum and wallpaper carousel.
Some system apps that i think are junks (well im not used to miui) n cant be uninstalled are yellow pages, scanner, mi credit, mi cloud & drop.
3) the phone out of box comes with june security patch update. No new update so far.

How's the face unlock bro? Works in various angle?
android phone so competitive. better buy iphone no competition
I am a iPhone user but this poco f1 is too good to pass on with the spec and price. Having sleepless night considering getting it as a gaming and entertainment phone.

If all you want is gaming and entertainment from 2ndary phone, it's pretty much a straight buy TBH, as most of what it lacks should be on your primary edi (plus a 2nd phone is often less abused in the long run).
So... buybuybuybuybuy...

Hehe Unless you guys have iPhone X, I don't see how this phone can be your secondary phone. I think it will replace your iPhone after some time.
The differences between them is just outlook design and built quality?
And camera.
Built quality is debatable. Obviously mi8 is solid based on reviews, but Poco is still new. Who knows where else they would cut corners. But since it's by Xiaomi, I think it should be decent.
But when people say built quality, it's probably just the feeling of plastic Vs metal or glass. But if you're gonna slap on a cover, then it doesn't matter.
Oya, forgot about the screen. Mi8 amoled is definitely better than ips on the Poco.

Some will look for features and camera.....
for me gaming phone will not except good in camera, this can accept Mi8 still good phone for me.... not only built quality, even design and outlook is better.

If they're not going to bring in the 8+256 variant, might as well just settle for the 6+64 one. No point in buying the 6+128 variant since the RAM size is the same and you can always expand storage later via mSD.
Does POCO really come with dual stereo speaker? During the teardown video shown single only.
Hahaha... gud observation. Well the second one is the ear piece when you cake calls, that tiny speaker. The loudness of course is not there compared to the real speaker down below.

If I'm not mistaken the PCB must be UMT & easy to change the parts as well. Literally, the liquid cooling is just a gimmick marketing like Note 9.
I trust made in India products more than made in China.
I think the 64GB ROM will definitely out of stock.Too bad only sell online whereas the 64GB is not available in Mi Store.i think not much people will buy the 128GB.The sales will start after tonight 12am for Lazada?
I often watched it & even followed him, but I don't trust them blindly. I know a lot products like to send to him for review.
By the way, his unit is armoured edition 6+128GB & why not reviewing 6+64GB the basic one?
FYI, I've watched since the minutes he uploaded. The video is just a crap.
I also notice that most of the review are all based on armoured edition. Is there any video out there that is using the base variant for review?I am curious on the durability like drop test and so on to see the build quality of the pocophone. If the durability test show good very promising results, I think this will add more marks to the build quality.
FYI, the unit he often received are totally different with the consumers. Cherry-picked the best unit & don't represent in real life. Stop believing the reviewer unit. The majority of them are not honest & paid by the vendors.

I don't trust those well known YouTuber. The most reliable is directly from the end user that using their own blood money to purchase it. This phone main selling point is the SD845 & India developers for optimization.

Yup.You got the points.i am not sure interm of lifespan of the phone and the components quality due to cost cutting.I may wait a while to see the review from end user since I am interested in 64GB variant.

Warranty, LTE bands, GPS incompatibility in some cases.
Also the warranty. Don't go for supplier warranties.
Make sure it is local manufacturer warranty. If you go for a supplier warranty, be prepared to be without a phone for months while they take their time fixing your device.

Well, if the 8/256 Armored Edition never reaches our shores officially (which seems rather plausible, considering the "top" spec outside India is the 6gb version), folks who want that specific config (most of the folks here) ain't gonna have a choice there lol.
I'm beginning to think that the 8/256 is actually a limited manufacture model made in low numbers SPECIFICALLY to kick OP India's nuts.

Slightly better than A2 for sure. September SST is around the corner & yet Mi 8 still stuck with July security patches. No news for Android 9.x as well. If got money, I won't even consider Android & straight buy the upcoming iPhone & call it a day.
What's the difference ya? enlighten me please, not so into all these tech.
Its just the toughness of the glass. The higher gorrila glass is more resistant to scratches than the older iterations. In most cases, scratches aren't the biggest worry cause you're gonna plaster a screen protector over it anyway.
The more important point is that it is also more shatter resistant but no glass in the world can save a clumsy person.

Xiaomi still updates their older devices, but it may or may not be as fast as their Android One devices. Personally I won't worry about updates too much since I'm going to use a custom ROM anyway

I see, thanks. So gorilla glass 3 is far worse than 5? Yes, I will look for a tempered glass with identical size to cover it. lol

Well the plastic back helps too, that much I'll agree. Or Gorilla 6, which supposedly IS made for drops (or at least according to Corning).
BTW (and a bit OT), do you folks still remember the times when "Corning" meant more dishes and bowls rather than smartphone glass? I wonder if they still make kitchenware today.

To be fair, GG isn't ONLY about the scratch proof-ness, you know. It also contributes to the rigidity of the phone... which - considering the recent teardown from Xiaomi themselves - the Poco is gonna NEED from the GG as it looks like the plastic back panel is also much of what makes the surrounding frame of the phone.
On that end though GG 3 is actually more resistant to shattering/ breaking then the GG 4 (but less resistant to scratches) so it's kinda a decent trade off.
Hopefully it provides enough rigidity for normal, non-abusive use though.

wrong! gg3 and below basically didnt hv shatter resistance. basically it is useless....
gg4 come out after they found out the majority of screen damage is due to impact.
Apa nak gaduh2 pesal GG3 or whatnot. With the price you pay, considered it value for what you pay what. Kalau nak better protection, then go for the more pricier Mi phones lah.
why not? This is tech discussion forum, should encourage people to discuss complicated things. if u want to casually discuss about non specific phone, there is better section out there. Stop discouraging people from talking about complicated technical things.

What he is trying to say is, at that price people need to set their expectations right. You can't expect to pay for Proton price and expect to get a Ferrari. Something like that. Then again, we can always demand more. Sometimes manufacturers will listen and then add in features that are most requested. That is how they improved. It is this kind of push that made technology move forward. Regardless, this Pocophone is a market disruptor and it definitely will shake the industry like how Mi Mix started the bezelless trend or Apple with the notch trend.

Discussion is fine.
But it starts to become a joke when people start to nitpick every single detail for a phone which offers you so much.
You pay for what you get.
I don't see Apple users demand as much for iPhone X for the price they paid compared to this thread itself.
If you want to demand so much, there are better phones out there. Just make sure your wallet comes along with it.
The most retardted complain I hear by morons here is that pipu say is ugly… wtf cares most important is the price and I dun think its ugly… and got pipu complain is plactic… omfg at this price also plastic is better cause more drop resistant and if u get a glass back u most probally cover with case… all retardterd complain and most fuuny of all no omoooomoclopic coating on front glass screen…
when i read no omoooomoclopic coating i lol oso
--- btw i jus wanna advise u guyz, dont fall into hype! if u phone still new and less than a year, keep it! phone evolved very fast, every 3months got new model. every 1years got new processor.

Orly? My bad then if true.
But yeah, people only nitpick because folks (not here yer) often compare the thing with phones twice or three time it's price lol - so the nitpicking is only fair.
I mean, you can't go "hur dur flagships are gonna die" and then pull back with "hey don't expect the world when it's priced like this" at your convenience when people point out shortcomings lol.
In short, it is what it is, a budget build phone with killer specs and a killer price. That much it true and is pretty much unquestionable. As is the compromises needed for it to be what it is.
On another note, Xiaomi not officially bringing the 8/256GB Armored out of India is totally not cool TBH... especially if its simply to protect sales of the Mi8.

imo plastic phone is more superior in many ways, such as drop protection. my lg g4 still standing strong after numerous drop, bought uag and spigen case for protection in the end ditch both as it add bulkiness and troublesome whenever want to change battery.
in other hand, my p20, with glass doesn't feel premium when need to put case all the time, glass only can be seen not touch is kinda a waste. even tho the trend is glass all the way, I still want a flagship in plastic. maybe just in my dream, until poco come out. haha.

+1 for the flagship point. Frankly, this phone is NOT a flagship killer and good on Xiaomi for not promoting it that way. Flagship means top of every aspect, and this phone just gives the experience of one of the aspects of a flagship.
This phone, is a midrange killer.. it kill all other midrangers..
Look, anyone who is interested in buying a flagship is already looking at ipX, Samsung note 9 or even the pixel. They want the best of everything. Phones that can make them then their heads are those like op6, Huawei mate or p20, or maybe even mi mix2s. Their budget is thereabouts and no way they gonna look at pocophone..
But for the midrange segments.. who in the world is gonna buy those midrange Snapdragon 625, 660 when you can get an 845 for the same price, or at least top up a little. Best bang for buck phone of 2018..
Slightly better than A2 for sure. September SST is around the corner & yet Mi 8 still stuck with July security patches. No news for Android 9.x as well. If got money, I won't even consider Android & straight buy the upcoming iPhone & call it a day.
Read somewhere it said the phone will get Android Pie update during late 2018 not to mention , MIUI 10 is around the corner too

I've said it before, I'll say it again: It's an Assassin of Honor (lulz).
Sighhhh, not gonna deny that. And I'm a real fan of honor.
I *was* too. My previous phone of 2 freakin years was the H8.
Then Huawei decided to be dicks and stopped bootloader unlocks. Kthnxbyeforever Huawei.
To be completely fair, if anybody asks me about an Honor phone now, especially the "higher end" ones, I'd probably straight up tell them to go look at the Poco Loco instead.

Coz they are straight fwd user Buy n use
Poco users is bengkang bengkok user Buy, unlock, root, custom rom, kernel, tweak here n there even unbrick hp by short circuit the usb cable
"LiquidCool" is just a fancy marketing name right?
All heatpipe should have water inside already isnt it?
Yes it's just a fancy name for a heatpipe, though #papan9 wins here by calling theirs "The Carbon Water Chamber of Secrets".

Hey bengang bengkok folks can buy "premium" phones if they wanted too you know. Myself I never ran my iPhones unJailbroken or my Notes unrooted... when I had them lol.
Granted, the Poco MIGHT be better suited at being customed then some phones from the flagship brigade (damn Exynoses so hard to code kernels for lol), so you're not entirely wrong.
And you do have to wait a while for unlock codes for Xiaomi phones in the past (not sure about the Loco Poco), so it MIGHT not be entirely seamless to tinker with either (though it already beats those damn locked Huaweis by a country mile).

Yeah. Economy really slowed down for real I guess. Or a lot of people do not know when Xiaomi Msia said today, it actually means 12AM?
Yea, I thought it might be even OOS when reaching 12.01am. Looks like not a hurry but shall see how's the crowd in Mid Valley tomorrow. I was in Mi Store KLCC when Mi A2 was launched, no queue at all to buy the phone with freebies.
after 1 and a half day testing the phone, my conclusion is, this phone is really worth the money, only if performance is your main priority. So, between this and OnePlus 6, i find no reason to buy op6, unless the non rated water resistant feature in op6 attracts you.
Between this and Mi 8? no doubt, save your RM400! Buy this phone, put case on it, u wont notice any different!
If you think mid range snapdragon or kirin processor is good enough for your usage, this phone might wont appeal to u so much because there are many mid range phones out there that offer better package - better build quality and better camera.
Also, if you are enthusiast and have the money, i feel it is still worth it to spend premium on phone like Galaxy Note 9, U12+, and P20 Pro.

Have you tested that the GPS is working fine? I keep hearing people say Xiaomi phones got GPS issue
636 vs 845 in theory which one is better for battery efficiency...i can only assume it was 636 due to low freq and low performance gpu....what stop me now to get the f1 was the sot....i can achieve 10 hour sot on my redmi note 5...read somewhere poco can only do 8hour...for me, i prefer that extra 2 hour sot over performance...becuz i dont games...at all..

I am also using Redmi Note 5, but I will target poco as my replacement phone in the future just waiting for the price to drop in the future.
At the moment I think redmi note 5 is as efficient, if not better than poco.
If you don't game at all, I think just stick with redmi note 5. Camera of poco will be a bit bette, but not far off from RN5.

efficiency is 845, longevity at idle is 636... while lower clock the die size is bigger in the 636 and that usually determines the power efficiency, the smaller the die the better
