Well I just get new info. Apparently we cant use MDV for online transaction. MDV is still in the first phase and according to their customer service, we can expect for the 2nd phase (expected June 2008) for online transaction. What a letdown.

I wonder why you guys have to call customer service? I seriously don't understand. I do it all by myself and the pin is my choice, not given by them.

I do it all from here

This one i know, I already verified my visa but its for online shopping or others, hmm.gif what i mean thats if i want to withdraw money from atm or register for pbebanking, isnt it needs the pin number? I WANT THAT NUMBER! icon_question.gif THANK YOU!

You mean using the debit card to withdraw money? I am not sure about that, I used back my old ATM card to withdraw money.

hey guys... I apply this Maybank Visa Debit card last week because i wanna use paypal for online transactions. However, paypal couldn't recognize my card like wat you guys had discuss earlier.
So, i went to the nearest maybank branch and ask them about the problem. One of the person in charge told me that this is a new debit card, and they haven't update on paypal yet... he say the card will start working on paypal approximately on Sept 2008.

Man.. should have ask b4 i apply for this card... >.< now i have to wait until Sept...

Hello guys,

The other day I went to a Maybank Branch located in Sunway Pyramid New Wing to ask regarding the online transaction features. Which most of us are facing as we can't use the Maybank Visa Debit Card for online transaction.

The staff told me that the online transaction features won't be usable quite yet as they are sending our card numbers to oversea bank to confirm the card is a real Visa Card. The Staff told me that we can use the card for online transaction as early as June? (regarding the exact month or Date to be able to use it for online transaction no idea)

Hope we can use our Maybank Visa Debit Card as soon as possible. Can't blame Maybank for the bad debit card services. They are still new to the field of Debit Card. Give them sometime and things will work out exactly like a real Visa Card. In the mean time, Hang on to your Maybank Visa Debit Card. The features are a bomb just need sometime for the local and overseas bank to implement the card into their system.

From the situation like this, I wonder what Visa actually doing. Why do they need to verify? They can just verify with Visa

hmm.gif i'm considering it. but i want to use it for gaming purposes like buying games online, buying game time online and stuff.
Some time ago, when i asked the customer service about PBVE, they said:

"You may utilise your debit card for internet transaction provided the merchant is not categorised as a mail order, gaming or auto debit merchant"

I was curious why gaming was not allowed so I emailed them a second time. They said:

"We wish to advise that it depends on the nature of business that the merchant identified themself while they applied for their credit card acceptance facility with their banker. You may try your transaction first."

duh.. if i'm buying something from electronic arts or blizzard, i think they would definitely identify themself as a gaming merchant. doh.gif

Anyone have any experience using PBVE for buying games online?

heh? like that also can? never heard of such stuff leh. sweat.gif

i think there's no problem buying from anywhere as long as they accept visa though. it's not logical to have such a restriction.

EON Impian card ehh? for starters, not a very attractive name indeed. anyone willing to try it?

PBVE is giving me a very headache-y time. seems like they've sent my PIN number but i didn't received it. now they want me to wait AGAIN because since they can only send out my PIN once, they now have to cancel my current card and issue another card in two weeks time, to be collected at the nearest PB branch. Another two weeks to wait for my new card, and further two weeks to wait for my PIN number. Ohh gawd this is foolish. So far none of the debit cards have really made me satisfied. sad.gif

I'm pretty much better off borrowing my mum's credit card... sweat.gif
