I havent read all the pages here but I started reading from page 25.

Anyways, for those who are having problem with MVD for online transaction, have you do PLUS ACTIVATION by ATM machine? I'm going to change my card to MDV as well tomorrow. And according to my friend, I need to do PLUS activation or else it wont work for online transaction.

Well I just get new info. Apparently we cant use MDV for online transaction. MDV is still in the first phase and according to their customer service, we can expect for the 2nd phase (expected June 2008) for online transaction. What a letdown.

I purchase Ambank NexG on wednesday last week. I fill in the form and send the form at the Ambank branch itself. So I was told that it would take 4 workings day to be activate. Fine, i waited for 4 days.

I called again on Monday. Guess what, they just received the form on Friday and they havent put the data in the system yet. THe lady over the phone promise me it will take another 4 workings day. I was very furious. I rants and rants to her. Poor her. I didnt mean to but they were just slow in activating my card. Then I decided to call yesterday, to my delight I was told that it would be activated today. I'm so happy over the news but still a bit skeptical though.

So i call again today. The first staff told me it would not be activated unless I fax my details on a piece of paper to them. I told her there was no where in their website telling me to do that and i wasn't inform when i handing over the registration form. She insisted that is the protocol and most likely the branch still haven't got the news yet. I wasnt satisfied with her answer. So i called up the branch that i went to and they told me there was no such thing. So i called again the HQ. Now another staff telling me my card is almost ready except I have to wait for another 4 workings day so that whoever is in charge to authorizing the card to be use can do the damn job. So basically there is no improvement at all. He told me that Ambank will call me when the card is being activated. FAT CHANCE! I wish i keep the name of all the personnel i've talked with so that i can complain about them though. Misleading and making promise just to make sure we the customer does not going angry.

So for anyone else who want to apply for the Ambank NexG, try other card first. My experience with just getting the card activated has been extremely unpleasant and who knows what will i experience once I get the card. I am not going to wait for the card anymore. I will cancel it and try something else. Maybe TuneMoney. I just wasted RM25 and one week with NexG.

Hi,

I just got Maybank Visa Debit Card after i lost my previous ATM card.  I have silly question:
It was stated that we can see our transaction e-statement, but where can i find it? Maybank2U?

Btw, hopefully Maybank can quickly upgrade the service for Paypal and Ebay usage.

Thank you

You're looking atleast June 2008 before the feature is being enable. I wonder why Maybank didn't put up in their website that it still not compatible with online transaction.

Anyways I got my ambank NexG card activated already. Thank god it not giving me any problem. Still waiting for my PIN to arrive. They say it will take 3 weeks from the date the card been activated. And to request printed statement will cost you RM20. Its so easy to make money this day. rclxub.gif

I'm using Maybank Visa Debit card. It is damn great. You can use in any stores that has Visa logo. Plus, the card is also an ATM card. Wow! An all-in-one card!! wink.gif
*
Does this mean we can already use it for online payment?

If we can already use it in a shop which has visa logo, doesnt this mean we can shop online with a site which accept visa? I am confused here. Or do we only able to shop with visa logo within malaysia only? Never heard of such thing.

Just curious about this PBBank Debit card. I tried to use it at a petrol station but it gave me an error. Can u use ur debit card for normal shopping and buying oil? Do I need to go through another procedure before it can be fully utilized?
*
Do you have sufficient fund in the account? This has been mentioned many times in this thread. For petrol, if you decide to swipe your card at the pump, you have to make sure you have to have more than rm200 for pre-authorization (rm225 for PB DB), if you proceed at the counter you have to pay only what you pump in your car.

any1 know how can i change the limit for my maybank debit?? Via the ATM or online? In the ATM machine, i can only see changing the limit for Funds transfer / Purchasing limit / withdrawal limit..

is it purchasing limit?? confused >.<
*
Yes, it is withdrawal limit. However even if you raise your WL to rm5k. If you decide to buy stuff (use it like credit card) you can't charge more than rm1.5k in single payment. I read about this sometime ago. Not so sure about it. Never needed to withdraw or purchase stuff more than rm1k anyways.

i've successfully use my maybank visa debit for online purchase. 2 times already. one time in july or august, and another time is last week.
*
Mind to clarify more about this? Where do you use your MVD?Which site? I'm thinking of using MVD as primary card for online transaction. Kinda hassle to transfer money to Ambank everytime need to use for online purchase. Not a lot branches and interbank transfer take time n cost money.

thx

cuz maybank debit card can't do booking of air ticket online right?
*
Wait for reynna to give her answer. Right after I read what she post, I gave a call to maybank but had to put on hold for more than 15 mins. I instead message them through the forms on the website but who knows how long will it take for them to answer me back.

Well, they did say if when able to do online transaction, they will publish the news in their web site.
*
Yeah, you're right. I made another call to Maybank and I was told there's no expected date but the earliest could be end of this year. They will announce it on their website.

Last time when I first got the card, they say by July. But now by end of this year. Seriously, is it really that hard to implement online transaction for a supposedly visa card? sweat.gif
*
Same here. I got mine on May cuz I heard they're going to enable the online feature sometime in July. July passed and I got fed up and started using NexG. I guess now that m2u site having problems it will take even longer for online purchase to be enable.

Not really swipe, the cashier will put ur card into a slot and key in how much you have to pay and then you have to sign the receipt. But make sure you have change the limit for your daily purchase/withdrawal first.

hhhmm.. as far as i know, the debit card works the same way as the credit card. i bought a pair of shoes with my debit card and they used the same machines and all.

the only difference i know of with regards to debit and credit card is that debit only allows you to use whatever cash you have whereas credit allows you to spend money that you don't have.
*
I've only been using MVD so far and that's how they processed mine. But it does have limit. As for MVD, the limit is rm5000. Ambank NexG is around 10k i think. Same with Tunemoney.

hi,can maybank card use at giant, the cashier keep saying cannot use debit card there?

There shouldnt be any problem. I've done it so many time. Nowadays I only carry rm50 in my wallet. If I go shopping also use MVD. Don't have to worry bring so much cash around. Just bought jeans from ROMP today and yesterday I bought socks from F.O.S (no more than RM20!). I've never had any transaction rejected except once at local supermarket near my area. The stuff I bought cost RM50 but I only had RM50.50 in my account that time. LoL.

or just start a new account and getting the card for free

You can only have one saving account with Maybank. I tried to open another one but they didn't allowed me. But I also read some cases (only a few though) that some customer has more than 1 saving account.
