11. Can I use my Maybankard Visa Debit outside Malaysia?
You can use your Maybankard Visa Debit abroad provided you activate the overseas flag prior to your departure. The activation process can be done through our Maybank ATMs or through our 24 hours customer service centre at 1-300-88-6688. Your Maybankard Visa Debit can then be used for retail purchases at any VISA merchants and cash withdrawal at any ATMs with a VISA PLUS logo.

just went to a public bank branch and applied for the Visa Electron debit card yesterday.. the officer there said have to wait for 2 weeks then they will mail a letter to your house to inform you where to pick up your card then the 3rd week only can go and collect.. wah need so long meh? I needed the card to book air ticket and hotel online.. is this card able to do so ?

Tried that. I activate from ATM to PERMANENT already, still cannot verify paypal and google checkout but can be used to pay my hosting bills at namecheap.com

tried using Amazon with Maybank Visa Debit Card, don't see any problems yet, just placed my order waiting to be shipped. Unless they only charge my MVDC after shipping that i don't know. haha. Anyone mind sharing his/her experience with Amazon?

I tried using the Maybank Visa Debit Card to purchase items from Amazon, but for unknown reason my transaction cannot be go through. stating i got some problem with my card. Unless someone can enlighten me whether i key in my wrong card number 3 times or the Visa Debit Card can't be used in Amazon online for transaction?

Haha, they did not charge me RM12, I got it free.

Btw, I do love their free annual fees, which is quite good. Unlike Public Bank, you need to spend >RM1200 to get your annual fees of RM24 to be waived.

i've read all of the post.. since most people favour MVD and PBVE eh?

i'm the MVD holder.. and just applied for PBVE.. hope that i cud get it fast..
btw.. what type of savings that PBVE have? islamic or conventional?

If i'm not mistaken, i got my Public Bank Visa Electron PIN No just a few days (less than a week) after i received my card at my designated branch. You can start using your PBVE even if you do not have the PIN no. You just need to go to deposit money into your PBVE account via Public Bank cash deposit machine. Then you can make purchase at Amazon.com right away. Make sure you key-in the correct billing address.

By the way, you might also want to register for PBVE online banking so that you can keep track of your spending from time to time. It's a free service.

i'm considering it. but i want to use it for gaming purposes like buying games online, buying game time online and stuff.
Some time ago, when i asked the customer service about PBVE, they said:

"You may utilise your debit card for internet transaction provided the merchant is not categorised as a mail order, gaming or auto debit merchant"

I was curious why gaming was not allowed so I emailed them a second time. They said:

"We wish to advise that it depends on the nature of business that the merchant identified themself while they applied for their credit card acceptance facility with their banker. You may try your transaction first."

duh.. if i'm buying something from electronic arts or blizzard, i think they would definitely identify themself as a gaming merchant.
