I think debit cards and credit cards works the same way when you pump petrol, RM150 will be deducted from your card until everything is processed only credit back the amount to your card. Just that with credit cards, you do not know about this cause usually credit limit is > RM150...

Some Gold Card doesn't put the holographic emblem at the front of the card. For instance, CIMB DA and MBB Petronas Visa.

Does that mean it is not international recognise?

I'm not sure about the international recognition since I have no chance to use them at overseas.

i get mine back the next day after they deducted from my acc.. dont hv to worry abt it... it's normal transaction when u pay via pump machine...
but the first time the thing happend on me, i called the service center, they said the money will refund to our account within 3days..

but just in case u dont want to deduct rm150 each time for pump...just pay with ur debit card at the cashier.. they will deduct the amount u want.. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Exactly, the withholding of RM150 is made when you use your debit card at the ISLAND PUMP and not over the counter.

Just got RM17.50 rebate back on my Standard Chartered Debit Mastercard for pumping fuel!! Woohoo!! biggrin.gif

Disregarding Maybank Debit Visa Card, I checked with the people in Maybank, they said if want to use it for overseas transaction, we must activate the function from the ATM.

So in my point of view, if we want to use it for Pay Pal or whatever transaction online, we might need to activate that function through the ATM for overseas transaction.

Correct if i am wrong.

Can I use my Maybankard Visa Debit outside Malaysia?
You can use your Maybankard Visa Debit abroad provided you activate the overseas flag prior to your departure. The activation process can be done through our Maybank ATMs or through our 24 hours customer service centre at 1-300-88-6688. Your Maybankard Visa Debit can then be used for retail purchases at any VISA merchants and cash withdrawal at any ATMs with a VISA PLUS logo.

That's just my point of view, tomorrow i will be applying my Maybankard Visa Debit, since I am going to cancel my MOL Freedom.
