QUOTE(socratesman @ Mar 23 2008, 08:49 PM) Hey guys! Because it is Visa too. Visa has that feature for you to overdraw it.from the T&C of Maybank Visa Debit, there is a fee of RM10 for overdrawing on the Card account. I thought a debit card is not supposed to let you spend more than you have in your current/savings account? So how can one possibly overdraw on his/her account? QUOTE(lambertlai @ Mar 24 2008, 12:41 AM) If i buy the product from the sell man he ask me :"have you credit card?" In this situation, does he accepts the Maybank Visa Debit card? As long as he accept VISA, it will be fineBecause i 'm student dont have the credit card so i apply the MVDC Added on March 24, 2008, 12:49 am QUOTE(FayeChan @ Mar 21 2008, 10:52 PM) ^^ The one everyone's been talking about is the New Maybankard Visa Debit. RHB eCash Plus One card is actually a prepaid MasterCard which can also act as a Debit card. Nope, you are wrong. They don't run like Public Bank Visa Electron. Maybank Visa debit card will direct deduct from your account. Of course, you can set limit of payment daily yourself at ATM. Default is RM500However it is not connected to a current or savings account so you have to reload value up to RM10,000 inside the card to make purchases. QUOTE(Shinichi @ Mar 15 2008, 11:15 PM) PayPal does accept debit card. Such as Public Bank Visa Electron. Been using PayPal 5-6 times already.QUOTE(Shinichi @ Mar 16 2008, 03:19 PM) Because i've been using Public Bank Visa Electron for more than a year now. I guarantee to you what i posted is 100% true.QUOTE(Shinichi @ Mar 16 2008, 10:23 PM) Yes, but you should have AT LEAST RM175 in your PB Visa Electron account to do the transaction. The bank will hold RM150 for every petrol transaction regardless of the amount paid. Once they have processed everything they will credit the balance back to your account. You must also always have RM25 reserve in your Public Bank Visa Electron account. So if you account has RM50, you can only use RM25 top !QUOTE(neoxz @ Mar 19 2008, 09:12 AM) RM8/annum. This fee cannot be waived. |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Mar 24 2008, 01:52 AM) PayPal does accept debit card. Such as Public Bank Visa Electron. Been using PayPal 5-6 times already. I found this feature quite irritating actually although it is because of security purposes. I got shock when I check my online statement stated that I used more than RM150 to pump petrol Because i've been using Public Bank Visa Electron for more than a year now. I guarantee to you what i posted is 100% true. Yes, but you should have AT LEAST RM175 in your PB Visa Electron account to do the transaction. Another disadvantage of PB debit card, the online statement is kind of slow, it is not real time update. It have to wait 3 working days to process into the statement. We don't really can't see the statement and easily get confuse on the balance |

Just that with credit cards, you do not know about this cause usually credit limit is > RM150...Another disadvantage of PB debit card, the online statement is kind of slow, it is not real time update. If yes, I don't see credit card has any security unless noticed by the bank ppl and notify the actual owner immediately Because that is for security reason incase your card is lost, the lost is minimal. And not only that petrol limit, you can only use your card at petrol station like max 2 times/day to avoid fraud. The part about "card lost and security" problem, that is your own responsibility, you are held responsible for the safeguard of your card (if im not mistaken, the T&C does stated that). Obviously you should inform the bank if your card is lost unless the card itself have ability to inform the bank, which requires more security in place for that to work. Such as maybe cardholder DNA embedded into card and anyone other than owner touch the card will alert to bank, or PIN required for every transaction needed (but hey thats ATM card for that purpose) |
