I seriously dont think there is any problem powering up a GTS with the CM Real Power. Heard before from someone saying that Extreme Power 430W is even enough to power up SLI 320MB 8800GTS...

If i were still on my CM Real Power, i dont even think for another time powering it up. Besides, it isnt really a PSU that is that bad..

LoL... so sad right?? The only thing that is holding us is PSU... doh.gif

But if you dare to test you 8800GTS with CM Realpower 450w.. then I will have guts to try it with my Enermax Noistaker 485w too thumbup.gif

Erm.. what proc are you using neway??
470w?? Which means even my Enermax Noisetaker can power it up?? I have doubt about stability though... hmm.gif

*Still loading the site...

yeah man....damn sad...he wait is killing me la...

me using the A64 2800+ in muh rig temporarily until i get the OP650 and the intel price cut. once cut...hopefully got enough money for a Q6600 biggrin.gif

but one thing i noticed....the minimum PSU requirement is usually based on a QX6800 system... saw this on the BFG and EVGA 8800GTS website while i was doing some research. so if ur system consumes less power than that then iguess it should be ok la.

higher wattage != safe+stable

anyway I dont think that CM real power is a good real power PSU, due to its weaker 12 V rails.

I think I'm too afraid to try powering up 88gts/gtx with 485watt enermax is probably because too many people have exaggerated to me about how unstable 88gts/gtx is with psu under 500watt. doh.gif

Gee.. sometimes I got scared of it... what if it really happens?? But then due to the situation I'm in right now... I don't have any other choice but to try it with my enermax.. afterall all of you said it is definitely safe. Well... I think I believe you guys more than those people... laugh.gif so i will try it if OP650 don't make it to me before 1 July.

LoL.. that particular reason has forced me to get a Lian Li PC-7S..

But I've read somewhere in the signature of someone in forums where there is a combination of TT Tsunami and 8800GTS.. so I believe there won't be any problem for the case to fit it in. smile.gif

If you do use your 485w enermax with the 8800 (especially the 8800 GTX), please give some feedback ok? Really want to know whether the PSU can support them or not!

Here's another recommendation from Guru3D. http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/391/9/

Apparently, with the x6800 (TDP 75 watts), you need a 450w PSU for the 8800GTX and 400w PSU for the 8800GTS.

If we're talking about the q6600 (TDP 105 watts), I guess we just add 30 watts to the equation?

This of course rules out OC as at stock, the PSU would probably be near its limit.... sad.gif

weird. in this test, 400W enough for OCed E6600 + SLi 320M 8800GTS OCed.
http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticl...537&articID=574

IIRC, SLi 8800GTS OCed consume more wattage than stock 8800Ultra (even if OC). and thats with 400w psu.

*i really don't recommend doing so

Actually... most people here said that 8800GTS 'didn't consume that much power'...

Only that some peeps like me got scared when some people from other forums or any other place says and talk about how 'unstable' 8800GTS/GTX is with PSU below 500 which I believe is just somekind of exaggerated stuff... but I still scared and worried about it... doh.gif

Since I do have some pretty nasty experience with my old 6600gt in regards of PSU 'not stable'... sweat.gif

But I thought we do have someone with TT Tsunami here right?? I wonder who is it... hmm.gif Is it shawty??

*Dunno if its dream or not.. is there different version of tsunami too??

450W above PSU should be sufficient for most standard setup with a 8800GTX, what takes into account the most you all should take note is the total current output on 12V rails.

@Hyde`fK,

May i know the core/memory speed of your 8800GTS?How well is it handling on 24" while gaming?

To be honest, i was shocked on how the 8800GTS performs during gaming. As compared to my 7300GT last time, it was a totally different experience. I thought my 7300GT which is able to handle the C&C3 at HIGH resolution (no AA) was good enough. Everything was realistic. But when i change to the GTS, turned everything to MAX, the effects was totally different...
