guys,
want to ask.. who of u using 8800gts with vista? other than the rivatuner, which software u use to check the temperature of the card? if i dont on the rivatuner, my fan speed is at 60% even i play games, is that suppose to be like this?
i have to manually set my speed to 80%-100% when i play games. anyone experience the same thing like me?

QUOTE(rockmaniac85 @ Jun 17 2007, 11:05 PM) well, if you don't set rivatuner to change fan speed to 80 or 100% whenever there's high temp, then you need to manually change speed. If you already do the settings like me, then you need to turn on rivatuner at startup. jus minimize it, so that it can change the fan speed whenever it reaches min temp according to your settings. for now i using the rivatuner to change the fan speed like in this guide http://home.comcast.net/~boogieman1954/880...eed%20guide.htmwhat i want is just that the nvidia driver will auto adjust the fan speed for me without using 3rd party software. aih.. vista and 8800.. troublesome

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jul 17 2007, 02:10 PM) same here....i was thinking of getting an extra side panel from ATE and cut out 2x120mm blowholes to supply the GC with all the cool air...only problem is dust need to find them fan filters i cant even bear the noticeable noise at 80% man. so i leave it at permanent 60% for now if you put it permanently 60%, when you use graphic intensive program/games, your graphic card will shut down. happen 2 mine once cause that time i duno vista didnt control fan speed. scare the sheet out of me. i tot my gc burnt

QUOTE(akachester @ Jul 17 2007, 10:08 PM) Well, i realise this problem with my card as well. As off now after turning on my PC for roughly 2 days + without turning it off, temperature of the card jumped from 58c to 66c on idle. .. 8800gts is lidat i think. when i first bought the card, my idle speed is around 60C. now it idle at around 66-68C and load around 72-76C.. when i put it permantly 60% it shoots to 80++.haha

i think all depends on your casing airflow and ambient temperature.
fyi, my side casing fan is at the middle which didnt blow my gc but i still get 60C at idle and 70C++ at load.you jus need properly ventilate your casing the airflow.
using Asus 8800gts btw.. asus gc is hotter than the rest because the fan speed is slower

i do a special way to exhaust my hot air out.. i put a 80mm fan ouutside the casing directly on top of the exhaust grill.. the temperature drop 1-2C.. not bad for a simple mod
