it's barely fit. for 8800GTX, won't fit at all unless HDD cage removed

Tomatomanz... seems like you are in the same boat as me now.. need to change casing just to upgrade a new gc... sweat.gif

450W above PSU should be sufficient for most standard setup with a 8800GTX, what takes into account the most you all should take note is the total current output on 12V rails.

http://www.enermax.com.tw/english/product_...ay1.asp?PrID=22

Based on that site the total output in my 12v rails is 36A..

What is the requirement of GTX again??

@Hyde`fK,

May i know the core/memory speed of your 8800GTS?How well is it handling on 24" while gaming?

To be honest, i was shocked on how the 8800GTS performs during gaming. As compared to my 7300GT last time, it was a totally different experience. I thought my 7300GT which is able to handle the C&C3 at HIGH resolution (no AA) was good enough. Everything was realistic. But when i change to the GTS, turned everything to MAX, the effects was totally different...
*
My card default speed is 576/1350/1700. Until now, I use default settings in every games I play. Last time when I owned a 7300GT, I will overclock it just to have extra fps. As for gaming, most games I've tried fits my satisfication, like Test Drive Unlimited, C&C3, NFS series, GRAW, except STALKER. All games tried on native resolution 1920x1200 with everything max out. Do take note your LCD is on 1680x1050, processor speed to have effects on the FPS. I have tried playing Granado Espada with default clock speed of 1.86Ghz on my C2D, average FPS is about 25fps. After overclocks to 3.2ghz, 100% boost at around 55fps. That's on 1680x1050.

Your card default speed is 575/1200/1700. Shader clock is lesser, which will also affect the fps as well.

No less than 30A is recommended. GTX will need 28A to be able to run. Pretty much depends on which model you get. Overclocked version will need more power.

Aight!, my worries are over!.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Juz had confirmation it will fit my casing considering GTX can fit in there too esp. since GTX its longer than GTS, which means GTS will fit juz great thumbup.gif

Heres the proper picture of GTX in TT Tsunami Dream :-
user posted image
Gotten that pic from forum which hes using GTX on his TT Tsunami Dream cool.gif

Its funny that alot forums thought that TT Tsunami Dream or similar (Soprano and etc.) can't a 8800GTX.

Imo, all that its juz speculation that they thought it wouldn't fit, considering as u noticed those who said can't fit in are those doesn't even have GTS/GTX fitted in TT Tsunami Dream casing, all juz using sketches\diagram\drawings... cis.. doh.gif

Cheers wink.gif

Well, i did not try OCing anything as off yet cause i dont mind running it as off now. I am satisfied but yet to try those graphic intense game. Maybe i try to OC it and see how.

How much would shader processsor influence a card? And is my 1200 the default shader processor for 8800GTS?

Default shader clock is 1200mhz. Core/shader clock will affect a card's performance the most compared to memory. 50mhz over the core is about same as 200mhz over the memory.

There is only some slightly fps difference affected by the shader clock only. I think Mad Shrimps had a benchmark review on more than 10 8800gts which can help you to clarified your doubt.
Mad Shrimps 8800gts 320mb Review

If you on a 22 incher, the 320mb should be ok enough but not too sure on a 24 incher. My 640mb still can handle most current games at 1920x1200 with max settings, 16x af and 2x or 4x aa. There only a few games which had lag with the settings such as in oblivion at wild with heavy grass scene, supcom where there are 100 over units bombarding a base.

Haven't done a real overclocking on my GTS up till now, quite lazy this while. For now, my idle temp is around 50c-52c.

I bought mine from irenic (2nd Hand). So the price might differ. LOL...

Anyway, he bought it at RM1.2k..

For me, i dont really hear any sound from the fan after closing the side panel. Maybe mine wasnt running at full speed but i dont hear anything other than my abit noisy Silverstone fan...

if ur willing to wait awhile...drop a PM to karom... he ordered an evga 8800GTS 320mb superclocked & a BFG 8800GTS 320mb OC2 himself which i think is just to fill up the MOQ. my guess is hell be selling it off.

arc_archive is also selling off his slightly used BFG 8800GTS OC2 in the garage sales for quite a bargain. try taking a look at those first before going for the MSI.

Based on discussion so far, I guess 8800 GTS 320 is more than enough for 19" Widescreen ...

I rather go with new card, even with cheaper brands like Palit 8800gts for RM990 is good enough for me, for me, I ll buy the new one when it comes to expensive stuff, longer warranty and peace in the mind icon_rolleyes.gif
