I really hope that 9 series 2 times faster than 8800 series ....
Then...... U guys will cryyyyy...
9 series is more energy efficient, I plan to buy it next year since I m just using Acbel I power 450W, don't think it can support 8800...

The only way to console myself is to find a card better than 8800 & can fit wit my PSU... 9 series seems to fit in..

And my Acbel PSU is 1.5 month old only, got LED color, I really like the look !!

Any GOOD Graphic card can recommend for PSU 450W? (not going to change PSU la)
Budget : RM900-1200 for the card....

i won 8800 OC GTS but my psu only 460watt still no problem powering my rig...

actually i do check using psu calculator, my spec only require 380watt and 100% load....

so 460watt still more than enough for 8800 gts...

what is ur PSU brand . ?

if you have the dough just buy it... no need to give reasons...

as i said previously, im using msi 8800gts oc with acbel i power 450watt..

furthermore, i oc-ing the proc and futher oc the gfx card.....till now no prob

even powering 2 sata + 1 dvd writer + 6 fans...

99% forumer here (SEE hardware Q&A) claim that 8800 GTS should be at least using 500W Real Power.... (SS 560W is the min, that s what they said)

One of the member he claim that using CM real Power 460 W, can't power up 8800.

Anyway I will wait for 9 series ehich consume less power than 8800.... This is more safer !!
(U know I am freak, graphic card > 60C, open so many topics that is me.... Better to be safe )

Im using Enermax FMA II 460W and im running 8800GTS with E6320 with mild OC. Can pass Orthos/3DM whatever benchmark test.

Dont compare CM PSUs with others like Enermax or Silverstone. Look at the price also know la. This is getting repetitive.

Becasue CM Realpower is a ton of f***shite that should have never been made in the first place.
300W on 12V is laughable.

CM iGreen 500W powering a 2900XT here. 400Ws on 12V.

Yea, i understand what you mean here. If thats the case where people is waiting for the 9800GTX, claiming its 2X faster than current ones, wait till its released. Then people will say "oh, its expensive, wait a lil longer" and then, goes another rumour saying "wah, 18000GTX is 2X faster and keep on waiting..

I say, savor what you have now, enjoy every bit of your money spent because technology will only grow. It will not wait for you to have money first...



About the PSU, i am not sure about the requirements but i had successfully powered up my 8800GTS using CM Real Power 450Watt before. I did remember someone posting before stating even the CM Extreme Power 430Watt is able to power it up. How reliable, that i am not sure though..

graphic card update every 6 months, there is no way u can keep on waiting, just grab a mid upper range performer would do fine for years........like 6800GS, 7900GS, and now 8800GTS 320mb.........

u wont burn ur pocket so deep yet able to play most of the game at above average setting for quite some time........

about PSU, i dun remember see anyone claim that SS 560w is the minimum for a 8800 rig, just a suggestion as the PSU is bang for buck, 320++ for 560W and realiable too...........

so far i believe 450 watts is safe as long as u dun attach too many power consuming device, hdd and rom does not take too much power......but multiple high power fans does..... like those delta....

By the way, stuff bought is meant to be used, not to brag.

Windwithme's an exception because he actually uses the stuff he gets for benches and reviews.

I just borrowed my friend G BYTE 8800 GTX to try to use....

Amazingly, it has no problem initally... but, when play 3D games, just 10 minutes, it already restart... I just Try only ONE time.... Dare not try more than that...

Acbel 450W may be not sufficeint, I m not using too many Power consuming unit... Just all my cooling fan is from VIzo (4 fans),LED colour

don't jus look at how much total watts.. the most important is how much amperes is carried on +12V rails..

higher Amperes is the better ones..

still, enermax brand is the best among those three u mention, IINM.

Last time, the shoper recommend me Acbel over enermax FMAII .... Somemore Acbel I power, more expensive than Enermax by RM 10 (The shop price) ...

A lot of lowyater here has bad comment toward Enermax, Acbel & also CM ....

Frankly speak, I pick Acbel bcause of it LED & its warranty , running untill now (<2 monhts) sometimes got the "sss" "sss" sound (very soft sound though) , is this alright ?

from my personal experience...
my previous acbel ipower450w can power my oced c2d rig with x1950xt-> which is a power hungry card no sweat..
