1 slot away for me, right next to it is not advised as gap for airflow is too small there. The air where the vent holes are is very hot, so adding a vga pci exhaust fan does the perfect job to push the hot air out of the case, which it did a 13'C drop for my case.

I think it depends on the processor also leh.Cause my 7600GT Extreme version should be higher then all those 7600gt but it seems my processor is bottlenecking the performance and getting about a few hundred points less.

8500 is the lowest end GC from Nvidia 8XXX series.

While 8600 is Mid End liao.

OC or no OC, that's not the main point.
The main point is what the card offers.

8600 series offers more pipelines, better graphics technology and has some other stuff that i don't have time to explain in here.

How in the world you think an 8500 can be at the same level of 8600?
Offcourse it can't.

Your card is not underpowered, it is utilized perfectly, however, it can't go at the same level of 8600.
About the 5000 points in 3Dmark, that one, he did some Vmod, yes the benchmark can go nearly at 8600 series, but results in benchmark doesn't mean you will get the same performance in gaming.

All i can say is the 8500 is a very low end card, it can't even fight with 7300, to me, 8500 is not worth the buying at all.

Go benchmark both of them, then you'll see which one will perform better.

Well, yea, during that time, many people would recommend the 8500GT. This is because both cards are having roughly the same price and yet, the 8500GT is offering an advantage in being DX10 capable. Even i would recommend the 8500GT. Performance wise, i think the 8500GT is slightly better than the 7300GT. But not sure how OCable are they. 7300GT are solid overclockers and may even surpass the 8500GT when OCed..

350W? Acbel? isk... too low, i even throw away the Acbel at the first place , IMO, a 500W should be ok, and 550W~600W is minimum for today's computing (just my personal preference), and forget those CM, Acbel, or any super-capalang brand (Icute, PowerLogic, Sunshine)... off topic already
