I always had this problem since having a DX10 card (aka 8800GTS) and combo it with an LCD using DVI adapter.

What happen is, IF i were to turn my PC on for a long time, it will tell me that my LCD will be entering energy saving mode and can never be turned back on. I personally am not sure about what might be the problem.

All you can do is to turn your PC off and restart it. Only that way is going to return your PC to normal..

My way of solving this problem :

Down to none as i am not sure about the source. However, this is what i did and do help me in countering the problem there.

- First of all, go to your Power Management screen in your Control Panel.

- Go to the part that shows : Turn off Monitor in XXX minutes.

- Select NEVER for the option.
From there, i did solve the problem about the Entering Energy Saving mode and no signal detected. Besides that, you may want to go to the screen saver screen and uncheck the "use password on resume from screen saver" thingy. Not sure it will be able to help you or not but it did solve my problem a lil bit..

thanks for ur help..wait for tonight..will see whether i solve the problem or not..

Update your OS i guess..LOL..

Anyway, regarding this problem, i am personally not sure what might be the problem here. Maybe i could email nVidia and see whether they realise this problem or not..

Anyone having this problem when on LCD + 8series GC + DVI adapter?

Nope, 8800GTX + Vista + DVI + Dell 228WFP. I disabled all the energy saving options, so the monitor never turns off.

I set my monitor to turn off after 10 minutes. After the monitor goes off, I sumtimes haf problem in turning it back on by just moving the mouse which shud turn it back on immediately. What I hafta do is manually switch the monitor on n off using the power button on the monitor n then swinging the mouse around n the monitor wakes up after that. I dunno if it's specific to my set up or not though coz I'm using Apple monitors.

I only have the problems IF my PC have the energy saving options especially the option for turning off monitor after certain time. When i change the setting to "never", i did not face the problem again..

Well, i personally tested that before and it doesn't work. Even changing the auto detect mode to specific DVI mode also does not solve the problem. All i can do is turn off the PC and start it again in order for the display to show things again. Which makes me wonder what might the problem be here...

this is what i'm looking for, but too bad, there's no S-939 board offering PCI and PCI-e layout like that, i wanted to place my Audigy 2 ZS on top of the GC so that the lower part than GC is left empty... icon_idea.gif
