I always had this problem since having a DX10 card (aka 8800GTS) and combo it with an LCD using DVI adapter.
What happen is, IF i were to turn my PC on for a long time, it will tell me that my LCD will be entering energy saving mode and can never be turned back on. I personally am not sure about what might be the problem.
All you can do is to turn your PC off and restart it. Only that way is going to return your PC to normal..
My way of solving this problem :
Down to none as i am not sure about the source. However, this is what i did and do help me in countering the problem there.
- First of all, go to your Power Management screen in your Control Panel.
- Go to the part that shows : Turn off Monitor in XXX minutes.
- Select NEVER for the option.
From there, i did solve the problem about the Entering Energy Saving mode and no signal detected. Besides that, you may want to go to the screen saver screen and uncheck the "use password on resume from screen saver" thingy. Not sure it will be able to help you or not but it did solve my problem a lil bit..
