Do take note that the new revision of Colorful 8600GT Ultra Edition comes in Dual Bios which made mADmAN upset because his Colorful 8600GT Ultra Edition doesn't come with the dual bios. laugh.gif

Whats the advantage of dual bios? Not that we flash the bios to unlock anything. Save different speed settings?

normally it's for backup BIOS, say we flashed wrong BIOS version, and we unable to boot up (single BIOS) - quite hard la, but iamgine on dual BIOS, just switch the jumper (usually using jumper), voila, you are done with secondary backup BIOS, of course you can do something already corruted BIOS, maybe reflash icon_idea.gif

There are no modded bios for 8600 around right? So kinda useless.
Few people would wanna change the ram timings and re-flash the bios for this card

Not true.
Your 8600GT Ultra can be reflashed into 8600GTS and runs perfectly on 8600GTS bios.

You just have to know where to find it.
But beware, i'm not responsible if anything happen. laugh.gif

Relax mate... it's not like those games will also straight away use the new features anyway. It shud take times for that... and by that time.. most of use here might already change to the next gen card... laugh.gif

If there's a plan of upgrading... just go with it. At least for me.. I don't feel sad or have any regret at all since my 6800GT is too weak to play most games already... so it is a good investment for me... icon_rolleyes.gif

I agree with your point there.

At least i know my investment now is allowing me to play most of the games at maximum details i can have at the moment. Well, this card might still last quite a while before DX10.1 is fully utilize. The waiting game will never be over if you feel you wanted to wait for DX10.1.
