rtn12hp is excellent for up to 50mbps only, can't do 100mbps fully.

if u have been happy with it and going 100mbps, consider rtac1300uhp - cost effective, easy to set up, max speed, trouble free.

Save money... there is the free tplink u get from unifi when u go 100mbps.

U shud actually try it first, see good or bad it is.

There are others but i have never used, cannot and will not comment.

That rtac1300uhp is priced reasonable for what it can do, compared to equivalents.

Esp if u use wifi a lot.

But mind u, full performance is only possible if yr devices can do 5ghz.

U may also need to get adaptor for say, pc or laptop which typically 2.4ghz only.

in a way, u can consider yrself "lucky".
some r paying rm329 for 100mbps; some never get call; some call them but get rejected...
tm unifi work in strange ways - u never know if u will get a call again, what happens later... cheaper or not..?
but... 100mbsps is fabulous... if u need it.

there are some rm169 + jumbo + ruby... no idea if small minority or a lot.

Yr router is likely old gen, cant do more.

U need a gigabit router plus dual band devices running on 5ghz to get full 100mbps wifi.

Tm shud hv given u the tplink... can try it first.... some users are ok with it, others totally upset.

but think yes... the new 50->100 upgrades do not come with new 2 yr contract.
so, that also mean no new router, no +1 yr warranty for unifitv box and dect phone as well.
previous uprgades came with new contract and +1 yr warranties.

if u really do not want new contract, guess u just have to buy a new router - to get full 100mbps wifi.

One thing highly noticeable... unifi is so blardy unprepared for this new unifi tv, ultimate, var plus packages rollout.

Its apr5 and the contract still shows hypptv, hypptv everywhere, jumbo, ruby... all defunct terms.

More confusion and arguments in the future, for sure.

Yes, since apr 1.

Jumbo migrated to ultimate which has more than old jumbo.

Check yr channels, see if u have ultimate, 62+25 channels.

new tech, new equipment today, no such problem(s).

i can tell u if u do not spend $, u will keep asking these questions!

3 floors, 50mbps, tm router+repeater... u surely can't go far.

yr case... big house, many walls, long distance....

no easy solution... u need to spend $ - some wiring, some new equipment, upgrade yr speed.. that's all.

2 floors, easy, tech is there.

3 flrs, not so... anyone telling/selling u cheap n cheerful solution, be careful...
