you should also know that not all dram caches are built equal. sdr cache is based on an old technology. it's slow (single data rate, i.e. sdr in short; it operates at low clock rate); it has a much smaller capacity (32mb); and its role in ssd is kind of basic and limited.

a typical dram cache in ssd is ddr2 or 3, and it has a good capacity for ssd controller to do more than basic tasks. (if you looked closely, sdr cache is actually different from the common dram cache that we get to know in many ways)

by the way, it's ok to get some random ssds and call it a day. as long as the ssd serves you well, it's all good.

the 240gb is not cheaper. You can get A400/SSD plus at those price range already.

for me to look away from those 2 model. 240GB from other brand need to be below RM120, 480GB need to be below RM220. I havent find one beat those 2 brands so far.
