maybe you should do that; but now how to prove that it's actually faulty?

luckily all of my ssds are in good shape, old and new.

It was windows 10 1809. I fresh install 1809 and the same error show up on adata software. Using back 1803 seems to be fine. laugh.gif

wow. this is new. w10 1809 must have changed stuff under the hood until adata software can report about ssd status wrongly

will a fully filled SSD be slower than a HDD?

it could be slower, because the ssd controller will need to perform more taxing operations due to the lack of free space.

Try to avoid those super cheap SSDs. It does not have DRAM cache. Any heavy workload will cause it to stutter and it is worse than hard disk.

SSDs at around Crucial MX500 or Samsung 860 Evo price range are good.

this is a good advice and hint. the presence of dram in a ssd is one of the main reasons why certain old ones can still outperform many recent models.

China cap ayam 960gb ~ RM400+
ssd plus 960gb ~ RM599
Crucial mx500 1Tb ~ RM750+
Samsung Evo 860 1Tb ~ RM900+

look like the price will go down some more next year once qlc mass production...

I would say just get the cheapest one you can get. Performance not much different.

I don't know the Msia pricing, but 806 evo 240GB is selling at 109 SGD, a little bit high higher but imho it worth the price as it comes with software that can easily update your firmware, configure SSD provisioning, ect.
Also supporting RAPID mode is a plus too.
Don't skimp on it to get some low grade SSD(no dram or shitty controller) which later you'll only end up headache.
