QUOTE(mcat84 @ Oct 24 2018, 09:12 AM) Try to avoid those super cheap SSDs. It does not have DRAM cache. Any heavy workload will cause it to stutter and it is worse than hard disk.SSDs at around Crucial MX500 or Samsung 860 Evo price range are good. |

Any heavy workload will cause it to stutter and it is worse than hard disk. this is a good advice and hint. the presence of dram in a ssd is one of the main reasons why certain old ones can still outperform many recent models.SSDs at around Crucial MX500 or Samsung 860 Evo price range are good. |

Looking for advice. Want to change laptop HDD to SSD, which one of the Samsung should I get, 850 or 860? Initially thinking of the 960 but it is not sata. Today saw the 860 sata 3 250gb selling for RM389 on lazada.

QUOTE(Irishcoffee @ Nov 4 2018, 01:08 AM) advice needed I don't know the Msia pricing, but 806 evo 240GB is selling at 109 SGD, a little bit high higher but imho it worth the price as it comes with software that can easily update your firmware, configure SSD provisioning, ect.im looking for a budget ssd for my old core 2 quad pc. probably arnd rm300++ find with 240gb or 480gb if possible which ssd perform best with this citeria? Also supporting RAPID mode is a plus too. Don't skimp on it to get some low grade SSD(no dram or shitty controller) which later you'll only end up headache. |
