its ok to miss it, SSD is contantly dropping very fast anyway.

I was so wrong to rush to avoid SST back in June 2018, I purchased a UV500 480GB for RM355(thats was after lazada RM20 voucher).

Now the same thing with SST is selling for ~RM330. The better brand Crucial MX500 500GB is selling for RM320 -.-

Viewnet is on the roll here, Sandisk high end business class SSD X600 512GB sell for RM310 rclxub.gif (It is a Western Digital blue under different brand, or you can called it Sandisk Ultra with unlocked +12GB & 2 more years warranty)

btw those who buying low end SSD for old PC/laptop especially sata 2, dont bother paying extra for Sandrisk SSD plus. It is actually worst than kingston.
https://www.hardwaresecrets.com/kingston-a4...gib-ssd-review/

I still got my RM20 lazada voucher, I think can buy at RM120 for 240GB ones.

If you are on sata 3, spend a little extra get dram SSD for ex. Kingston UV500, Sandisk X600, Crucial MX500. 480-512GB is priced about RM300-330.

er i think it's about 1,052 myr after all discounts were applied

for my usage 512gb is more than sufficient as os drive. currently 960 evo 1tb only fills up about 40gb. (i can make better use of it for other purposes)

edit: tbh if you're talking about price only, without considering warranty, some sellers at tmall offer about 850 myr for 512gb.

Yeh ,saw one with instalment , Tmall cost 810 but don't know about warranty.Better be safe with local warranty.Let us know how when you receive and performance.
btw, what better use for other purpose ? biggrin.gif resell ?

btw, I don't really need too fast performance , do you know any place I can get a SSD like Micron 5100 or Intel 730 ? Reason , would be stated before , power loss protection.
I don't see any local seller selling it , only can get from newegg or amazon which out of warranty.

yes for the peace of mind in case shit happens; 40myr per annum for 5 years for that is a good deal to me. well i can use it as a dedicated drive for my work vms

for these models, you might wanna try out garage sales section, e.g. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4653721

however if you needed this feature due to sudden power loss in your area, a better choice might be a capable UPS. (ssd is not the only important component in your computer)

Crucial MX500 1TB now only USD139.99 on Amazon (USD155.15 including shipping + import tax. After convert around ~RM650)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077SF8KMG/ref=tw...ding=UTF8&psc=1
Cheaper than any current Malaysian pricing.

I think early next year can reach USD100 for 1TB because ssd will not get affected by US tariff. What do you guys think? hmm.gif
