Yea that’s what worry me too since first floor and ground floor is separated by concrete. And I don’t want invest in mesh WiFi only to find out its same or worse than current speed.  cry.gif

Yes bro, it is a very significant investment. Best thing you could do is to set up an AP, but that requires cabling to be done, which is a pain and a mess unfortunately.

802.11Ah have longer range singal compare other standard because it use 0.9Ghz,
IEEE say 802.11AH have range about 1KM,so you can say bye bye to wifi deadspot,
But right now 802.11AH is just newly release on dec 2016

You will have to wait longer for it to be available in Malaysia unfortunately. The rate of adoption of new technology in Malaysia depends entirely on the supply and demand, and for now, most people are content with N and AC, and most don’t even know the different wireless standards out there, so we are out of luck.

Hi there

Please share your review on T1600G-52TS vs T2600G-52TS. I am getting it for my office use. I don't really need the advance featuers.

I think your best option is powerline

I have suggested a lot of my friends to try the powerline wireless extender and it's all been good. smile.gif

I use the AV1200 variant personally. Prior to this, I use the AV500 model and the performance is better than mesh to be honest.

802.11ah is mainly for IoT devices communication, the performance is really slow unfortunately.

I am looking at http://www.netgear.com/home/products/netwo...x#tab-techspecs , the user manual states that it has a pick-a-plug LED which indicates the link rate where GREEN indicating the speed at > 80Mbps. How can I know actual link speed between 2 Powerline is at least 100Mbps cause my Unifi download speed is 100Mbps.

Sir, can you advise what is the problem?

My DiGi internet has a stable high speed 4G+ most of the time (150-180 Mbps). by using WR941HP on Wireless N at full bar, it is acceptable the real world speed is around 50-70 Mbps as tested.

However by using the Powerline AV500 Nano, the maxed speed I get is around 30++ Mbps only. Both of the powerline are plug directly to the wall socket and not from the power extension. Both of them also got gigabit port (from the modem and to the PC)

wanna ask one thing I'm uncertain

on a powerline, is the wifi network repeated or is it network going through powerline THEN broadcasted? if its the usual rebroadcast like a wifi repeater then i think wifi speed will be significantly affected

The data is gong through the powerline then broadcasted. It is not repeated. However, powerline is very sensitive to electrical noise and any electrical noise will affect the data transmission rate.

Dear TP-LINK MY, Please provide a bug fixes firmware for c1200. Most of the Malaysian's have to use the router as a part of their respective isp package. I believe tplink is a good and representational brand. Please do focus on c1200 v1 also since that is the version used by most UniFi subscribers.

I have the TP-Link AV1200 powerline and they have an app to determine the connection speed.

The performance of the link is determined by power cable quality. I use Time Fibre so I consistently exceed 100Mbps over Powerline.

However, certain noisy power equipment will cause a degradation to the link speed but so far I only face this issue once with a faulty hair dryer.

500Mbps is the theoretical rate and that is not really achievable in real world.

Realistically I can reach around 60Mbps on the AV500 series powerline.

The wireless powerline is basically a wireless access point relying on the powerline connection for backhaul.

So the link speed actually depends on the powerline connection.

Powerline link speed is affected by various factors. (3 phase, distance between powerline adapters and power equipment)

Yes, but if your installation comes with a separate modem, it would be better to use a separate router in conjunction with the modem that is provided.

I have a question pertaining to C3150 v2 firmware. Is the router firmware same as the firmware being used by US set as based on its naming convention, they seem like the same ? I was comparing the latest firmware release between MY and US tp-link websites and noticed that the firmware build 170926 is not available in MY website (only build 170628 is the latest)
