TP Link Archer C7 user reporting in.

Im living in 20 X 70 double story terrace house. To be honest, this router pretty decent. I haven't test on android box IPTV yet. So you may ask other forumer who using this router currently.

Hi guys. I just receive free router from tm. I believe it is the c1200 from tplink. As mentioned by other forumer about the boot time of c1200, i do agree. However, I want to ask the sifus who is currently using c1200, is it worth to upgrade to recent firmware or stay as it is? I kept away my archer c7 away for future use.

Most forumer will recommend c5 over c1200. But, my advice is, you can get archer c7 for better performance. I will suggest c5 for you. Im using stock c1200 provided by unifi.

If you on budget, you can choose c5.
If you want slightly better in performance, then choose c7.

I believe those who purchase the recent version of c7 (v4) gets new interface of the pre-loaded firmware.

Those go able to buy v4. is lucky. Hope all the flaws from c7 v1 - v3 improved in v4.

It can be used as an access point of your house my friend. If you have an ethernet cable, you can do some wiring on top of the ceiling and connect the m5 deco to it. be sure you make it function as WPA2 personal only.

C7v4 is your only option. I am an ex-user of C7v2 (i sold to my friend already). Currently, I am using c1200 provided by tm. I didn't face much problem with the c1200 loaded with AU firmware (previously using Malaysian firmware). I've been using this router for a month after speed upgrade to 100mbps, the router only reboots once only. I am a heavy user and total devices connected to the router is 14 including 2 wireless canon printers.

For your question, C7v2 has problem with 5ghz signal stability. Even my current c1200 outperforms C7v2 in terms of wireless connection, to be precisely, 5ghz signal, where my iphone 7 plus can stay connected to 5ghz while previously, my phone automatically shift to 2.4ghz and even that is not stable when I am at outside. fyi, i am staying in double storey house (20 X 70). I heard, C7v4 solves the problem of C7v1 to C7v3. Hope it is not a myth. And that is one of the reason why i sold my c7v2 to my friend.

Have you purchased the current archer c7 bro? what router you are current using?

Nice router there. I sold my archer c7 v2 to my friend. Currently using stock c1200 router by tm. For current budget time, i feel the router pretty reliable than archer c7v2. In future i might get the asus ROG Rapture GT-AC5300

Wow. That is a nice feature. But my concern is, do the antivirus protect against the virus that comes through the home network or just a normal antivirus like scanning devices and so on?

Awesome. After more than a month, i installed tplink tether app in my iphone 7 plus, it seems, my current c1200 (stock by tm) cannot be detected. However, before i sell my c7 to my friend, the apps can detect the c7 router. I guess the firmware for c1200 quite worse and got some bugs.

Yes bro. mine is C1200. My tether app is at latest update.

I have to manually turn off the wifi at the admin interface rather than using a physical button available at the back of the router since i turn off the led's.

Because when you turn off the led's, you cant really know whether you turn off the wireless signal or not. Sometime it activates wps function. I will change the router soon. haha. For time being, i sold my c7 to my friend, and planning to get tplink c3150.

Dear TP-LINK MY, Please provide a bug fixes firmware for c1200. Most of the Malaysian's have to use the router as a part of their respective isp package. I believe tplink is a good and representational brand. Please do focus on c1200 v1 also since that is the version used by most UniFi subscribers.
