I have 450 Mbps high powered TL-WR941HP Wireless N router. The router I set scheduled reboot daily. Sometimes, connected devices like phone or pc via wireless got full bar and connected. But no internet, local intranet 192.168.0.1 also cannot. But some other device works. Is it due to router overload or lacked of processing power and RAM from the router itself?

How many device total connecting to the router? did you fix the wireless channel to 1,6 or 11 if your devices are connected by wireless?
*
total devices minimum connect is 12. on some busy days can be 19-21

wireless channel fixed at 6, after checking no one using on that channel

TL-PA8010P KIT looks good, range about 300 meters. If I want to share my network/internet with neighbour next door or nearby will it support? All those houses use same 1 phase, no 3 phase. So it should able to connect to the next door house right?

wow, that a lot of devices, as I know router usually only can support around 10-15 user at the same time, depend on the usage.
*
it quite normal I think, since now all IP connected

like my self

1. 6 IP cameras
2. 1 smart tv
3. 1 pc
4. 1 laptop
5. 1 NAS storage
6. 1 android box
7. 1 skybox/dreambox/
8. 1 Home automation terminal
9. 2 smart sockets (tp-link smart socket)
10. 2 Printers connected with wifi
11. the rest, phones/tablets depend on how many person coming in

Any good tplink replacement to the tl-wr941hp? The tl-wr941hp is great and cheap too. The only lacking of this router is the wireless AC and gigabit port. The important features I need are the strong wifi transmitter and gigabit port

any comparable tp-link router got good coverage like WR941HP. this 941HP is good with 1000mw amplifier with 9 dBi antenna. the drawback of this unit no wireless AC and gigabit ethernet

Sounds real good, but the best next thing is the TP Link AC3150 v2, which will set you back at least RM720.
Too little budget bro. You won’t get something decent for that amount unfortunately. Increase your budget to at least double that then you can get better.
*
thanks, checked it is FCC: <30dBm (1W). with 4 detachable antenna. this is great also, I can upgrade to higher gain antenna. I'll put in my wishlist biggrin.gif

been using 941HP. it is great router, relatively cheap below 250, strong wifi signal, 3-4 next door neighbor still can receive signal

The coverage of TP-Link Archer C3150 is even better than that unit but the price is much more expensive as well.
*
it still within my reach (700-850). for sure it is better coverage than 941HP? my nc230 ip cam struggling working at wifi coverage 50-65%. kinda thick and got a lot of metal roofing, which degrade the signal

I think your best option is powerline

I have suggested a lot of my friends to try the powerline wireless extender and it's all been good. smile.gif

I use the AV1200 variant personally. Prior to this, I use the AV500 model and the performance is better than mesh to be honest.
*
Sir, can you advise what is the problem?

My DiGi internet has a stable high speed 4G+ most of the time (150-180 Mbps). by using WR941HP on Wireless N at full bar, it is acceptable the real world speed is around 50-70 Mbps as tested.

However by using the Powerline AV500 Nano, the maxed speed I get is around 30++ Mbps only. Both of the powerline are plug directly to the wall socket and not from the power extension. Both of them also got gigabit port (from the modem and to the PC)

testing my AV500 on 1 Gbps lease line at office

what is the purpose of having 500 mbps connection from homeplug 1 to homeplug 2 when the actual LAN port is only 100 mbps? hmm.gif

surprisingly AV500 nano works on 3 phase connection despite having slower link from homeplug 1 to homeplug 2

tested again @ 1 Gbps leased line

The 500Mbps is just a number, the maximum throughput a homeplug can reach. However, real life is more complicated with electrical noise, line quality, and other interference, so a homeplug rarely reach full throughput.

See here: http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/networks/po...it-versus-wi-fi

yeah I know, but does not make sense when you have a theoretical speed at 500 Mbps but the end port (LAN) is only 100 mbps. should be gigabit instead. If you checked the homeplug line is exceed already 300 mbps. due to LAN port restriction, I left with 94 mbps++

I'm goin nuts troubleshooting the TPlink NC230 IP camera. the camera became offline right after 8am ++. Therefore I need to switch off and ON again to make it work and it last until 745-815 am roughly. Soon after, before 9 am the camera went offline again.

The thing is I have another unit of NC230 connected with the same router AC3150. the rest are ok.

Try updating the firmware, resetting it and make sure your wireless signal is good and not through any wireless repeater. Try diagnosing it with wires connection.

Worst to worst, RMA it. TP-Link is always generous for RMA and you can just ship it to their Lowyat service center.
*
firmware is the latest, reapply the firmware failed because it detect the same firmware version. reset also the same thing. I swap the other NC230 to that location, weird thing is, the swap unit also showed the same symptom. Right now it happen daily exactly between 745-845 am.

Connected to my archer AC3150 which kinda descent unit. wifi signal received from the cam is minimum 85%.

Tried also wifi channel via inssider, not dense and polluted, the channel I'm using is 11 and I'm the only one. Once connected it is perfectly fine.

I will try again to relocate the camera, it may or may not caused by unknown inteference confused.gif

It is possible that there's some interference at that place. Could be someone using the Microwave oven at the time or simply anything operating at 2.4Ghz.

My recent interference experience is caused by some cheap China baby monitor.

I suggest you to try channel 1 and see if it is better even if other devices are on channel 1.

The best case solution is to go powerline but that would require additional investment which may not be ideal.
*
thanks for the insight, I also suspect there's a some kinda interference and I realized it happened daily within this 2 weeks. it happened daily around 745-845 am. I have the av500 Nano, worst case I may have to use it which I'm not prefer to use it due to unnecessary additional wiring to my CAM and to the powerline.

update: reboot the AC3150 through cloud just now, the NC230 still failed to showed live video, camera apps showed offline, but my AC3150 telling me it is online. rest of the cam are ok hmm.gif

it seems to be that problem started from 845 am onwards. I went home at 6 or 615pm switch OFF and ON again works fine till roughly 830 or 845 am

hopefully bro Blacktubi. Initially saving money to buy tplink c3150 router since the review of the router from bro SilentVampire is good. after encounter with tplink Archer VR1200v's beauty. haha. can't wait to test out the combo.

the archer ac3150 is a great router. I'm using it now. daily connected devices around 16-22 units. no problem easy to monitor since this is a cloud router. the wifi coverage is quite strong too

any reason why my archer C3150 suddenly got download speed dropped from average 150 mbps++ to 50++ mbps?

I realized it just few days, tried on speedtest on pc/and its apps also got the same thing. while the upload still ok maintain as usual 30++ mbps.

I tried to isolate it by switch off the WiFi from the physical switch, leaving only 1 connecting device to speedtest. the same thing.

the only solution is by reboot or off and on again. the first few minutes I can achieve the normal speed download 150 mbps++, then a few minutes later, the download speed reduced again to 50++ mbps, while the upload still ok.

i checked on the apps I dont see any device got heavy downloading at that time. all around few kB only.
