Noted. Thank you for the information.

My unifi router has inconsistent wifi connection, log shows STA expired. If I turn off the wifi, and use AP device to connect the router, does it fix the issue ?

PM Maxis and get your username and password. It could be something else.

You got it the other way around. The single port should be connected to the Router and the one of the 3 ports to your PC, assuming that you are trying to get LAN connection to the router, but unable to do so, because of wiring.

Yes, you can but why would you want to do that? Powerline adapters are reversible.

If you want to add ports to your router, get a switch. The wireless powerline should be used at the place where you want to boost the signal.

I doubt you can use powerline for hypp tv if you already use it for PCs, because their network are separated.

Unless it is possible to implement 2 different networks of powerline within the same wiring system.

Not possible for powerline to be used for Hypptv if it is used for Internet already. You have to choose either one. See above for bro ppfoong who confirmed it.

Gigabit powerline is unnecessary if your connection does not reach 1000Mbps, or 1Gbps speed. You can buy that as it is better than AV500 powerline, but won’t make much difference for speed.

What router you use now?

The new powerline should be able to reach 100Mbps if you are lucky.

Did you ever tested TP C5400 on a double storey house with router at ground floor and testing connection at upstair?

I am looking for a good wifi router which at least can give me 100mbps wireless connection at upstairs.

Your new powerline should be better, but not sure if you can still get full speed. The best thing for you is stil a direct wireless connection to your router. Would recommend you get a better router with strong coverage. I would recommend the TP Link AC3150 v2.

It is possible, but you need to be connected to 5GHz, assuming that you area is congested and have interference from other wireless AP. The TP C3150v2 would be more than enough for you bro.

is there any other way to get the speed upstairs while the router at ground floor? if hardwire will need to redo the whole house network wires which will take something around 20-30 meters maybe to one PC

just in case minor details missed, it's a double storey semi-D house, wifi N @ -70 dBm, AC @ -80 dBm

could get a stronger router but on wifi, doesnt that cause lag in games?

Got to be honest to you that there's no definite answer for this.

Every house is constructed differently but I would say the C5400 is one of the strongest wireless router around. You have to use 5Ghz and make sure your router is placed in the middle of your house.

That's why it is my current main router also. Partly also because it is cheap. biggrin.gif

Hey BlackTubi, awesome reviews on your site. I want to ask whether the TP Link C2600 is reaching end of life? And the general standard now for price/performance is AC1900. However TP Link AC1900s looks like crap tbh. Actually I like the design of the C3200 and C5400 more than others by alot but these are super overkill. xD Should I go for the C2300 or the C3150 V2? And what do you recommend for extending wifi coverage for >5000 sq ft. Heard that mesh is not good for concrete? Extender? Thanks.

If the WiFi is strong enough and if you get a great strong signal, the lag is minimal. Of course , connected through cable is the best but if there is no choice, a good router with good coverage is always better than powerline. Archer C5 is good, but try the AC3150 v2.

I am not bro Blacktubi, but will help him to answer. TP Link C2600 have reached its EOL in Malaysia. General standard for price/performance does not really matter, and peromance of a particular router matters more. I would suggest the C3150 v2. Very stable, reliable, and rock solid. I am using that model now, and I highly recommend it. If you have the budget, go for the best in C5400 v2.

Would recommend powerline for extending >5000sq ft, but your house might be on three phase wiring, so extender is the last choice. Of course, an additional AP would work, but if you have no Ethernet jack, powerline or extender would be your last choice.

Mesh WiFi is definitely not advisable for our house in Malaysia as it depends on the wireless backhaul, and our houses are all made of concrete, so definitely not optimal for mesh WiFi.

Yes, but would recommend you get your own router. There have been many complaints about the C1200 and its stability.

I prefer a router + powerline extender combo. It is the most cost effective and able to deliver better performance that a mesh network config. It works really well for Malaysian houses with reinforced concrete wall.

AC1900 is the best 2 years ago but now we are already on AC3150 with Wireless AC Wave 2 MU-MIMO. biggrin.gif

Go for the C3150 V2, a lot of people use that model and it's really good. Must cheaper than other brands as well.

anyone using the default tm given tp link archer c1200 wifi router and having problems? I am facing a lot of issues with it. It will hang by its own within 24-48 hours and a reboot is needed. Now i am facing another issue where like with in 12 hours after rebooting, some of my devices that was disconnected from the wifi will not be able to connect back to the wifi. those that are already attached still can use.

tm has already changed to the same model but problem still persist. I am thinking to change AU firmware Archer C1200(EU)_V1_170706 as someone in the unifi thread said can use.

http://www.tp-link.com.au/download/Archer-...1.html#Firmware

This is my current firmware which is a tm default firmware.

1.0.0 Build 20170905 rel.41738 (EU)

Mine is the v1 model. Anyone has upgraded it without any issues?
