Btw, wanna ask.

Getting the M4 mesh soon from Unifi pack and wanna pasang to my parent house since i'm not using.

Parent house still using the HyppTV but the port from M4 i think should be 2× Gigabit Ports , right ?

Port 1: From modem
Port 2: to unifi tv box

But if i wanna extend using ethernet hub, how is the setup ?
Since the VLAN setting i think need to adjust for Hub to use by using custom.

My Plan:-
Port 1: Connect modem
Port 2: Connect hub extension > Hypptv, Google chrome cast, laptop etc.

easiest is to reuse the current router.

Unifi Modem -> Unifi Router dual feed -> M4 (AP) and Switch

Make sure you have cat6 cable the least.

The router will continue to manage your unifiTV which has dedicated configuration at the port setting, it wont work on another port as plug and play.

As for switch, just get Mercusys, selling real cheap at shopee (i think around 50 bucks for 8port).

And the switch you can use it to fix the rest of the stuff

i dont think you can do that

port 1 that connect to modem will be WAN port
port 2 if you connect for hypptv which is VLAN ID 600 which dont have internet

This is weird. Which HyppTV model you have?

Check this setting

Advanced > Network > IPTV/VLAN > IGMP Version

Choose V3

Thanks It works on my desktop!! rclxms.gif

Previously I'm using Asus old router,
I choose this model because of your review hahaha,
so far beside this problem, I find out that the signal strength is not as strong as Asus hmm.gif

AX20 can link with M5? hmm.gif

AX20 as router, then M5 as ap to extend the wifi range.

Main unit of M5 must be connected to AX20 with Ethernet LAN cable.

Not possible wirelessly

The deco is a superior mesh technology thus it cannot be linked to their router series

Hehehe I already got mine 399 preorder with tx50e
Ax73 2.4ghz is pretty weak but 5ghz is ok

I never connect 2.4ghz since 5 GHz already covered my whole apartment

Disable WiFi 6

I explained on this post why 2.4Ghz on WiFi 6 will be weaker than Wireless N

Bought a TP-Link Deco X60 AX3000 WiFi-6 (3-pack) Claims to be able to cover up to 7k sqft

TIME 1Gbps plan
Condo 5000 sqft, 2 floors
iPhone 12 Pro Max test device
Main device at 1st floor (connected to modem)
2nd device at 1st floor living hall
3rd device at 2nd floor living hall
Only using wireless (no Ethernet backhaul)

Router room: 650mbps
Living hall (1st floor): 400Mbps
My bedroom(second floor above router room): 300mpbs
Bedroom (second floor farthest from any device): 150mpbs
*didnt state other rooms but speeds are comparable**

Conclusion: Wifi speeds aren’t the greatest, even in the optimal condition (right next to main router). only reaching 60-65% of my plan. BUT the connectivity is stable (doesn’t reconnect due to only having a single SSID) and the range is great as advertised (I’m having 3 bars in every location in the condo). Lastly, it’s super easy to setup the mesh system with the Deco app.

Overall, I am pretty happy about my home WiFi right now. It is definitely an upgrade from the free mesh devices provided by TIME (which gave me headache all the time, max speed reach 300-400 only and extremely unstable)

For those who wants the best speeds should go for ASUS or netgear orbi but definitely more pricy!

On unifi 300mbps plan, just bought Deco M4 and installed

is it normal to get only 40-50mbps on 2.4GHz and 100mbps ish on 5Ghz wifi even next to them? in this case deco1

setup: modem(wired)-->router(wired)-->deco1(AP) wireless deco2(AP)

Connect your main mesh with Cat6 or Cat7 lan cable to perform speed test.
If even this also cant reach 800-900mbs, maybe your terminal to router cable need upgrade ady

I connected a Cat5e cable from my laptop to the mesh router and tried speedtest and I could get 700mbps-800mbps on speedtest. I just think the WiFi is not speedy for this model.

Kind of expected, since the high end ASUS zenwifi model is about 30-40% more pricier than this and the netgear orbi is twice as expensive rclxub.gif but i think can reach close to the max bandwidth

Does anyone know how to check the uptime for the AX73? I couldn't find it in the user interface.

When Zenwifi XT8 Duo and X60 Trio new to the market last year, I considered XT8 (RM1.8k) is better than X60 (Rm1.9k) even only come with just two unit because of its third band 4x4 which is good for backhaul and more LAN port compared to X60.
