but last week during pre-order promo, they have free gift tx50e or P100. now no more.  Lazada TP Link Official store said they will ship the free gift bcos they missed to pack together with the router

Oh I see. At least TP-LINK will send you the free gift.
I guess too many orders, they rush to pack orders too fast.

Thanks.

It was miscommunication. Initially the rep in chat say no free gift. Later they admit it was a mistake/miscommunication and will send the free gift. Case closed now

Hi sifu sekalian,

Im looking for router and saw there is one TP-link AX11000 which cost RM1800, actually what make these router so special and expensive???

Comparing AX5400 which only cost RM399, one at sky one at the ground.. does it have a lot different?

You can examine their Web UI and decide for yourself if it is worth for your usage.

One single router costs about the same as than my entire stack of Ubiquiti router, 3 TP-Link Decos, 1 semi-managed switch, 3 old routers converted to NAS / print server, and 2 Raspberry Pis sweat.gif

The AX speed rating is just a number, the real deal is the components used on the router that actually show the performance.

The Archer AX11000 uses the following
BCM4908 Quad-Core 1.8Ghz SoC
3 x BCM43684 WiFi Radio (2.4Ghz, 5Ghz-1, 5Ghz-2)
8 x Skyworks SKY85743 FEM for the 5Ghz channel

Meanwhile the Archer AX73
BCM6750 Triple-Core 1.5Ghz SoC
1 x BCM43684 WiFi Radio (5Ghz)
4 x Skyworks SKY85743 FEM for the 5Ghz channel

This is just a simple breakdown and doesn't include all other components, testing and RnD for a more expensive product.

Thanks for the brief breakdown comparison of AX11000 and AX73. Say, do you happen to have breakdown for AX20?

BCM6755 1.5Ghz Quad Core SoC

No external WiFi radio as the SoC can handle both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radio simultaneously.

Your knowledge on these things is amazing.

Can I ask, what is the advantage of having a separate wifi radio compared to being integrated in the SoC? Or having more wifi radios (eg AX11000 vs AX73)?

Similarly, what is plus point of having more FEMs?

I'm guessing it's to handle more simultaneous devices/streams? Does it also impact range/coverage of the router?

Not all SoCs come with built-in WiFi radio and it depends on the product strategy by the manufacturer.

FEM is an integrated component that include the WiFi power amplifier (PA), low-noise amplifier (LNA) and a few other RF components. They will affect the signal strength and interference mitigation.

The amount of FEM depends on how many transmit channels a router has. Under typical configuration, a 2x2 router can fit 4 FEMs. Two on the 2.4Ghz band and two on the 5Ghz band.

At the end of the day, these are all just standard components. The real performance depends how the manufacturer fine tune the final RF design for their product goal.
