My office is using unifi biz 300Mbps
Main Deco is M4.

Deco M5 getting signal from slave Deco M4, as you can see it is not even full 3 bars. I find it odd that the app doesn't show a more accurate measurement of signal strength though sweat.gif

Speedtest using my phone (samsung galaxy a30 SM-A305F/DF) connected to the m5
user posted image

Distance between the m5 and 2nd m4 is about 20m in an almost straight line but with only 1 door blocking.

One annoying issue is the app keeps prompting s 'another higher priority deco is in the network, please reselect main deco to maximize performance'

Have you read blacktubi's review of the x20? I believe you should be getting a better performance from it..

i did test  mine  a Asus /main , AX20 / AP  wired with lan  cable .  both can get max speed of 100Mbps as my unifi plan .
you can try this  to see if you get the speed u should.

Hmmm... I made a huge mistake... the model I owned is Deco X20.... Sorry about that

eh, AFAIK, according to TP LINK, AX20 does not support mesh mode when using router + router. In your case 2 x AX20. How sure are you that the 2nd unit pair automatically?

Yup that’s the full potential of Deco when you have Ethernet backhaul.

The mesh design is really efficient.

TP-LINK MY

https://www.tp-link.com/my/home-networking/smart-plug/hs110/

Hi TP Link,

I am thinking to get this Wifi smart plug with energy monitoring for some specific experiment.

1. What is the minimum interval to sample average power consumption? (day?hour?min?sec?)
2. Can we perform measurement(eg: 5min) and exporting 5min data out to text file? or CSV file?
If no, is there any other tp link product that support above feature?

Or if there any handsome LYN master can recommend me some alternative product? smile.gif

I had one few months back. Not sure if they’ve improved the app.

It only let you to see real-time usage, cumulative and average usage of past 30 days or 7 days.

There’s no way to configure a custom range, I doubt the cheap device collects that much data as well.

Oh.. If that is the case, did you add the 2nd unit using the deco app? since you said previously it pair automatically, not sure if you mean you just turn it on and you assumed it was automatically added to the network. sweat.gif

oh.. does this apply when buying 1 pack at a time? buy 1 unit first, set it up and then buy another 1 pack, turn it on and it will auto pair?
or only for 2 and 3 pack box?

Technically yes but it depends on other factor as well.. what is the signal strength of your existing wifi connection downstairs? hmm.gif
Mesh wifi will improve the speed of your wifi but by how much would still depends on a lot of other factor.

bcs the way the salesperson upsale it to me mesh would give 100mbps for my whole down stairs which currently only can get 10-30 mbps depending where you at down stairs...
If it only helps by a bit than what is the difference between mesh with the cheap wifi booster thing that some people are selling???

It depends the specs and how you setup the mesh WiFi.

I believe the basic Deco M5 from TP-Link can provide whole home 5Ghz up to 100Mbps easily.

Mesh is definitely capable of giving you 100mbps but like i said before it would still depends on a lot of other factor. (for example position of all your mesh node and even your house layout)
Mesh would definitely help if your wifi strength downstairs is very weak currently.

I would assume the wifi booster that you are referring to is a wifi repeater. A repeater would mostly cut you speed by half even if it is in a perfect environment but a mesh wont. smile.gif

Hey guys, I am currently using unifi and have my username and password. I recently borrowed 2 deco m9plus from my cousin (they subscribed to 800mpbs unifi and got it for free) and wanted to try out before i buy mine.

I followed the set up steps (video) and selected "Dynamic IP" but it did not seemed to connect to the internet.

Did I missed out anything? I read somewhere that I had to ask unifi to reset the password again to use deco m9 plus, is that true?

Hello, you are setting Deco M9 Plus for Unifi main router?
If you are connecting from the TM ONU LAN Port 1 to the M9 Plus WAN Port.

Select router mode and PPPOE Mode.
You only need to reset the password if you can't remember the existing UNIFI PPPOE Password.

Thanks.
