Hello all.
I am planning to get the AX50. I want to connect it to my Huawei B618, so that the B618 works purely as modem, and AX50 handles all the router work.
The main reason I want to get a dedicated router is so that when someone is watching Netflix in the living room, I can still play online games on my PC with minimal lag. Currently the lag is so bad if streaming and gaming at the same time. I want to use the QOS feature (missing in B618).
So my question is, does the QOS feature on the AX50 works for this scenario? I read that bandwidth management is not supported by AX50.
Thanks!
PS: Fiber internet isn't an option currently, so the B618.
Your issue is known as bufferbloat which is typical on a 4G Internet connection.
It's been there since the 3G era and there's not really a solutuon unless you put a hard cap on the netflix streaming speed.

Help needed here. Thanks in advance all.
I had a TP-Link Touch P5 AC1900 router which I bought 2 ~ 3 years ago and never used before until I switched to Maxis Fiber recently. I tried to use the Touch P5, replacing the stock Archer C5v provided by Maxis but I failed to get the Touch P5 connected to Maxis Fiber. At the box, there's sticker stating it support Unifi and Maxis Fiber. Under the Network-> IPTV, it do have setting for Maxis-Malaysia but that doesn't work. Tried custom setting with PPPoE VLAN 621, VoIP VLAN 822 etc but no matter how I tried, it just can't get connected and eventually I have to switch back to Archer C5v.
Anyone have successfully paired the TP-Link Touch P5 with Huawei GPON (LAN 2) for Maxis Fiver service? Mine to share your setting? Mine was Maxis Fiber under TM infrastructure.
Thanks in advance!
William
Do you use the right PPPOE username and password from Maxis?
