Hi All,

Just got an X20 (2 pack) during 11.11 to be used for my 1.5k sqft condo. Am currently subscribed to Time 500Mbps and X20 is setup as router mode. There are few issues that I am facing

On Main Unit
1. Speed test are getting only around 250MBPS even i am standing next to it.
2. Test is done using Galaxy Note 9 through speedtest.
3. Wifi speed on the phone settings is showing 867MBPS.
4. My previous router ( ASUS - AC87) can get speed around 400mbps.
5, Tried speedtest morning, afternoon, night = same result
6. Enabled/Disabled 2,4Ghz/Beamforming/FastRoaming = same result
7. Speedtest using TPlink app showing 520 mbps

On Slave Unit located in Room around 15ft away (behind walls)
1. Connection dropped till 50mbps
2. While playing games (CS:GO) it always show internet time out after every 8s and reconnect back...happens almost at fixed 8s intervals.
3. Moving slave node next to PC solved the internet time out; PC to original slave node location is <5ft. What??
4. Enabled/Disabled 2,4Ghz/Beamforming/FastRoaming = same result
5. PC is using a nano USB ASUS AC53 receiver.

Just got the unit 2 days ago and i am already very frustrated and disappointed. This is supposed rated 4k sqft coverage. Seeking help from sifu/otai here to help and guide me to the light...

Another thing you can try is to reset the x20 to factory defaults and configure again  sweat.gif

Since you already moved the slave unit next to your PC, can you try and connect your pc to the slave x20 via ethernet and run a speedtest?

That will be the last resort. Connected LAN to the slave node and its getting 115mbps

X20 don't have a dedicated channel to communicate with each node, speed drop to half is very normal...

250MBPS = 2000Mbps what u expecting?

Left is ASUS - AC87, Right is Deco X20

you are downgrading instead of upgrade... u just upgrade from Wifi 5 to Wifi 6.

EA-AC87 Selling price is RM580 1 unit, Deco X20 1 unit only RM350+-

Get the Deco X60 or M9 might get upgrade feel a bit...

Yep it doesnt come with a backhaul. Sorry my typo on the capital letters, shouldb be Mbps.
You may be right i am downgrading on the speed (if i were to maxismise all of it) but I wanted mesh to improve overall connectivity around the house.

Right out of the box, it should be getting closer to my ISP speed of 500Mbps and not 250Mbps.

If possible i really would like to try out a back haul capable router for my unit layout before deciding on one..

eh, AFAIK, according to TP LINK, AX20 does not support mesh mode when using router + router. In your case 2 x AX20. How sure are you that the 2nd unit pair automatically?

As long as single SIID and when you walk from one node to another (with some distance apart) the wifi signal stay full bar?

1 x Deco M5 slave
Not using the Deco M5 as the main because it belongs to me and not the company xD
Deco M5 getting signal from slave Deco M4, as you can see it is not even full 3 bars. I find it odd that the app doesn't show a more accurate measurement of signal strength though  sweat.gif

When I connect my PC via ethernet to the M5, I get this speed:

Speedtest using my phone (samsung galaxy a30 SM-A305F/DF) connected to the m5

Distance between the m5 and 2nd m4 is about 20m in an almost straight line but with only 1 door blocking.

One annoying issue is the app keeps prompting s 'another higher priority deco is in the network, please reselect main deco to maximize performance'

Have you read blacktubi's review of the x20? I believe you should be getting a better performance from it..

yep...i have been consulting blacktubi on this matter
