I am a 3rd year UTP student studying Chemical Engineering.

I would like to humbly ask about the opportuinities of a Chemical Engineering fresh grad working in KL. Are there any departments in KLCC that hires fresh grads for CE?

FYI, I don't mind working in a more non-technical department compared to working in plants, refineries, etc.

You're right! How could I forget that. If they do allow me to start July 1, I might be doing PIPE in August. Hopefully by then hopefully we'll do it together bro.

You can always try for Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering BUT, you will face competition with those who has a Petroleum Engineering degree. 7-8 years ago, Petronas was still taking in Chem E student and converting them to PE due to the shortage of people doing PE degrees. Now with UTP and a lot of students coming back with PE degrees, I think it would be difficult now but then again, I may be wrong.

If you wish to do something that is commercial/ less technical, there are many options for you such as supply chain management (also known as sendiri mahu sendiri order ), risk management, HSE, operational excellence, knowledge management etc

Don't know what you mean by the working progress is sluggish but trust me Petronas is in no way like your typical Bumiputera company. Sure we have lots of Bumis there but it is by no means run like a government agency.

Sorry that I have to disagree with the last bit too. Whoever thinks that working with Petronas is easy is deluded. Yes, the staff do get pretty handsome bonuses and pay rise but the company really does work one's backs*de off particularly if you're working in Upstream. I have been on a constant 7am-8pm work schedule for the past month or so and have to bring work home sometimes.    It really depends on which OPU and department one works at as well as the season

im doing my intern last time in that division, under Group Technical Solution (GTS). currently most of the depts in this division are placed at dayabumi.

Hi bro azraeli, nice to see you back again! judging from what you just mentioned, what position does petronas has shortage(ciritical shortage) now? Since PE is abudant in supply alrd for them(UTP grads, overc grads) ? Are they still having shortage for geologist/geophysicist? Bcos i wouldnt want to study PE and if i were to come back, the job market is already overloaded. :S

Hello, how the Petronas offer letter will be sent? Is it via normal mail or email?

hi all, just want to ask on behalf of my brother. let say we already have a report date mention in offer letter (say 1st of July), which is only 1 week away, can we postpone to later date, due to health reason? my brother already got his offer letter, but right now he might need to be hospitalize due to dengue.
