I was "selected" to be offered a pre-approved CIMB WORLD Mastercard after receiving SMS about it and having it appear in my CIMBClicks a couple of days later. Was wondering if it's worth the hassle as I'm more than happy with my CIMB cashback card.

What think?

In term of cashback, CIMB Visa Infinite (0.5% / 1%) is better than World Mastercard.

Is this normal for CIMB CC?
I received SMS alert for each Wave transaction done via Samsung Pay.

Guys, to get another rm15, we have to spend rm200. Do it have any dateline like within how many days?

Normal. If don't have sms alert, then you need to be worry.

My dad received this as well. I guess it’s another “campaign” being done by CIMB.

On the other hand, anyone knows if the SMS when there is a RM200 pre-authorise charge at petrol pumps can be disabled? Kinda annoying.

I thought only new card will receive once?

Each time you pump your petrol, it will hold RM200 pre authorization cost from your CC. This is common practices done by petrol operators. Except Petron where you can set your pre authorization cost.

Ya I know. I means the notification SMS for this 200. I only received for 1st time.

I receive it every time I use my card at the pump.

if pump petronas..wont happen..
only other brand petrol station will send sms like tht

did you request to lower the alert amount to RM1 or something like that?

Yes I am using Petronas, and everytime I pump I get this SMS notification.
And yes, I opted to be notified even with minimum spending of RM 1 using CC.
Just sharing info.

normal case is as yours.

anyways, we cannot simply disable the sms for pre-authorization but allow for others.

either get all or none (by setting higher threshold to trigger sms).

my preference, i rather get ALL sms

if i could get sms alert for paywave/paypass, i would want it too
