Yes
If company B cannot manage to get your EP approval, just stay with company A

Same thing applies when you move to company A, only resign at your current company once they get your EP approved
*
Curious question. Is the company HR going to be notified when current employee has application under other company?

Besides that, not often people will wait for you to serve your notice period only after getting EP approved. I'm not sure but if I'm the boss I wouldn't wanna wait biggrin.gif Some even need to serve 2 months notice.

I think company that subscribed to job seeking website will have notification unless HR close one eye and ignore. Well, my company didn't say a thing from my interview till getting new EP approved.

Most of the jobs advertised in the newspaper seems to be mostly catered to general labour nowadays.. Been seriously contemplating for a career change after 4 years in the construction industry but can't really find any good opportunity.

Email ICA and include your PR Application ID...
when i email them, i include details like last day at previous company, start date on new company...

then they'll ask you for informations like scan copy of new work pass etc etc...

Anyone tried calling Citibank to waive your card annual fee? tongue.gif

I use the PremierMiles.

i did, and they waived on the spot with no questions asked. using PremierMiles too.
OCBC absolutely wont waive, so i cancelled their card.
UOB waived after 1 week of calling in.

AFAIK, they will not know

They will definitely not want to wait, but as the candidate you need to know how to negotiate
It's not a small matter, if you resign first and EP gets rejected, what do you do then? Go back to Malaysia if your current company doesn't want to take you back?
It only takes up to 1 week for EP approval most of the time anyway, what's so urgent they can't wait for 1 week more

That economist report is based on an "expat" lifestyle. If need car and nice condo and eat lots of angmoh food in SG of course mahal gila.
If you rent 3rm hdb and every day economy rice and bus mrt walk, living in SG is cheap compared to the salary.

Actually take PR get tax deduction quite good le. The 20% that they deduct from ur income is not taxable. So essentially u get a return equal to the highest bracket u are exposed to, on your contribution. (See cpf relief)
