HELP MEEEEEE.

Went to POSB again to open my account. I live in JB and they need LHDN letter or tax letter or something. I never register LHDN. How can I get that letter?
*
Last time i went there, they mention as long I have IPA (kinda temporary employment pass) and address in Sg, then I can open up.
But, one of my friends mention that we need to have company letter. Though the bank staff never mentioned that to me.

Just solved this. OCBC can allow using Rental Agreement with Stamp (Pay Stamp Duty).
Recent rule to use telephone bill is harsh/troublesome for a newcomer in Sg.

Check your PM smile.gif

btw guys for opening bank account, proof of address documents, can I use certificate of stamp duty for room rental? They don't accept room rental agreement and I don't have phone bill statement because I'm using prepaid now as it's paid by company previously. The bank staff wasn't very sure and ask me to bring it over to try.

For me, I opened up an account in OCBC. They accept rental agreement with cert of stamp duty.
POSB die die need to have phone bill which I'm also using prepaid. They say try ask Telcos to provide me a letter the prepaid belongs to me.
Anyhow, u can personally go to the bank branch and ask around, some can open up with company recommendation etc.

Yes, your name and your address. Otherwise, maybe you can get your company letter like recommendation letter?

Hot dang, will be harder then I thought.

EP also need a permanent address?
Because IPA says you need the EP to lease a place to stay laugh.gif
I guess I can get a hotel, some of them are the same price with airbnb that I wanted, 1.4k sgd for 30 days.

So no bank account no salary.
Will ask the HR what to do. laugh.gif

EP u can use malaysia address, I got my EP before i move to Sg.

You may ask your HR to provide cheque for your salary, anyhow once you have rented a room, you can open a bank account pretty fast.
You don't really need to go to Sg to view the room/house. Its pretty ok to ask the owner to snap more pics for you to see to judge the place.
And the rest is the location that you can research from google map and street. Whether it is accessible to nearby bus stop/mrt and how many stops to your office etc. Even if you stay far, you can still travel all the way using public transport.
