What should I do to retain my bonus? My bonus is under review and approval now

If your bonus is contractual ie no matter what also company must pay, then you can negotiate/demand with them to give you pro rated.

If your bonus is discretionary ie company can choose to pay or not depending on company performance or whether the stars align, then almost-zero chance of you getting anything.

One alternative could be to ask the new company to give you a sign-on bonus in lieu of the one that you'll be giving up, but that's not really likely to happen unless you are super in demand as a candidate.

EP, they told me to take loan just for the sake of credit activity or try other card which I already have but still got rejected mad.gif

Try Citibank? I think in general they are more liberal in approving credit cards.

Otherwise SCB manhattan card has a version with s$500 credit limit, I'd guess that the approval criteria for that is super lax. Could be worth it to live with that low limit for a few months to build credit history if all else fails.

SCB manhattan 60k annual income. Cannot meet laugh.gif

No, there is a specific version of the card that only comes with a $500 limit. It's designed for students, but working ppl are also welcome to apply.

QUOTE(Blues89 @ Mar 14 2017, 06:01 PM)
can a company revoke employee PR if employee tender resignation?

When you get your PR IPA, part of the formalities IIRC is you need to get your company to sign / chop some form (forgot exact details). If you're serving notice your company could refuse to sign / chop it for you.

I think in that case you can possibly drag a bit and get your new company to certify the form though. IINM doesn't have to be the same company that you used to apply.

News said Singapore is most expensive city, but I see Malaysian working there very rich with exchange rate. Any problem?

That economist report is based on an "expat" lifestyle. If need car and nice condo and eat lots of angmoh food in SG of course mahal gila.
If you rent 3rm hdb and every day economy rice and bus mrt walk, living in SG is cheap compared to the salary.

Just some random musings on the 1:1 thing.

If you earn rm5k in MY, lots of ppl will say you should ask for sgd5k in SG to be fairly compensated.

But if you earn sgd5k in SG and wanna go back MY, lots of ppl will say must get at least rm10-15k to be fairly compensated.

So which ratio is the 'correct' one? smile.gif

Rentals also vary quite a bit between estate (close to town, far from town) and location within estate (next to MRT, 10bus stops away), no? Don't think it's possible to get a master room rental for $800 in tanjong pagar, tiong bahru etc.

Surely u will use the situation to your advantage right?

No arguments there. Just amused that what is "fair compensation" varies wildly whether one is moving from KL to SG and vice versa.

Because theoretically if KL to SG, 1:1 is a "fair compensation" move, why wouldn't a 1:1 move in the opposite direction also be fair?

justified
1. Yes for WP/S-pass (the two lower tiers of work pass), no for EP holders.
2. Generally maybe for large companies, generally no for smaller ones.
3. No

Me and my wife both signed up for new singpass when we got IC. But this was before 2FA so I guess it could have been different back then.

Industry-dependent ba. Banking & Finance basically no such thing as AWS.

One of my colleagues was blocked at JB customs for not paying PTPTN loan.

Yup, they clamped down hard on everyone not too long ago. I got a friend who found out when trying to renew passport at the high commission. immigration blacklist means can't renew passport.

now even foreigners can use the automated gates? i just came back from singapore for vacation and when i was passing through immigration the officer directed me to the automated gate which i thought was for singapore pr / citizen only. and i managed to pass through without surrendering the departure card.

QUOTE(aLertz @ Apr 18 2017, 10:21 AM)
as far as i know, those with working pass are able to use the automated gates...
not sure bout tourists though...

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Apr 18 2017, 10:26 AM)
yeah i worked in sg before but the officer couldn't have known...i was like heading to the ALL PASSPORT queue like a normal tourist and the officer just directed me to the automated gate. maybe they have upgraded their system and we are like the "white mouse" trying out their new upgrade?

Since at least beginning of this year I think. My parents came to visit and when they came in the (airport) immigration officer gave them a small flyer inviting them to just go ahead and use autogates on their departure. No need to surrender white card.

My first job in SG all phone interview only leh. 70k+ staff MNC FI.
My current job main interview also over the phone only (cos the hiring manager is in Europe). Only the local manager + HR interview is in person.

Ep application will take some Time I was told, worried- has anyone ep application gt rejected before??

Yes it's possible for EP application to get rejected. Reject liao the company can appeal, and even that can also get rejected. What %age chance of rejection nobody can really say, but factors like if the company now already a lot of foreigners and relatively fewer SC/SPR, nationality of employee, etc all play a part.

But generally Malaysian the rejection chance very low.
