QUOTE(ghodul @ Mar 8 2017, 03:58 PM) Just wondering guys, The requirement for EP got change huh? I'm currently on EP now. Yesterday, I just sign a new good offer, which is 25% from my current pay. But the new HR stated that she can't apply EP for me due to new requirement. She say that she will apply S-Pass for me instead... Does downgrading ur pass affecting something here? For Malaysians no difference. Malaysian no need to meet the $3600 requirement. Can say that Hr bodo or not confident to get u EP, so get S pass. Or maybe she told u that maybe u will get S pass because application form can tick both category and MOM decide which one for you. But no difference to you also la. Company need to pay your levy not u fork out money to pay government also. Maybe the company no more EP quota? U very lucky ah 25% increment!

QUOTE(Kelv @ Mar 26 2017, 10:27 AM) Toa Payoh north. I also think is expensive, perhaps need to nego with landlord. I rent the small common room and share toilet with him already 750 bucks. I was looking for clean quiet and walking distance to MRT back then. i used to rent at toa payoh north too. during 2014, the common room was $800, with aircond lah. i tend to overpay tho. $1000 is too much but still a lot out there charging this price despite market down. my current masteroom is $900 at taman jurong, yes overpriced but no owner live in together so i took it.

QUOTE(ReyLiew88 @ Apr 1 2017, 03:52 AM) hello sifus !!! i might be going to sg soon for work ... have a question, accomodations - i am looking for a master room with toilet ... cant share because i smoke (i know this is bad) ... any recommendations on which area to stay ? and the rental $ per month ? ... i saw some being advertised for sgd 550 - 700, but not sure whether the area is "good" area (hopefully near my office area) .... pretty lost here, going over next week for interview, i have the qualifications, most probably interview is get to know each other more/office introduction ... and the really dreadful salary negotiation (accomodation in my point of view will "eat" up a big chunk of my salary.. if i have the figure can negotiate the salary better) forgot to add, office is at chinatown area be prepare to part with approx. $1000 every month.

here is a tip from my very own experience. apply jobs at job portals and search for offices located at Tuas / Jurong Island or anywhere remote/ulu. companies situated at such places are quite far from town area but usually provides company transport. cons - far away from town - need to wake up early - if missed the company bus, need to take taxi to office (need to pay $$$ from own pocket) pros - sg citizen and pr usually will avoid to work at these places - save money on transport (if stay near company bus pick up point) - easier to be shortlisted for interview good luck

QUOTE(knwong @ Apr 4 2017, 08:53 PM) This is true from my observation as well. What S'porean consider as ulu, is actually sap sap sui in terms of travel journey for us M'sian. Just get a motorbike. COE for motor is still acceptable. But those ulu/remote places you mentioned, all are manufacturing - biomedical, chemical, pharma, construction, OnG refinery, F&B, etc... But most job nature is the same Like accounts, admin, IT, hr, receptionist, finance manager...
