Is the little distribution symbol on CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund ever going to go away?

Hi all,
question to you veterans, are you guys/gals using fund managers or services like FundSuperMart or do you manage it on your own? How do you buy into a fund if you don't go through agents/services? |

QUOTE(newdnewd @ Sep 6 2017, 03:13 PM) I was wondering if it takes too long, would the dividend reinvested purchase the unit trust back at a higher price, which means that we actually lose more money with the dividend reinvested compared to no dividend at all. Xuzen On PRS, the AUM is so tiny after years they launched it... if that's not an indication of failed initiative, what is? Basically people just use it for tax reliefs and youth incentives. The intended purpose of this product is to encourage retirement savings to supplement EPF. How is that achieved with RM3k per annum * 10 years? Cukup makan for how long after retirement? And the fund choice is so limited with more than half not doing great at all (like below EPF returns), how to encourage people to put more money ler? PPA also does not have a function to monitor approved funds' returns like how EPF MIS does it; hence quality of the funds may not be there, which earns the product a bad reputation TLDR - Too many limitations, too little incentive for ppl to invest This post has been edited by dasecret: Sep 14 2017, 03:52 PM |

QUOTE(Drian @ Sep 6 2017, 03:31 PM) I was wondering if it takes too long, would the dividend reinvested purchase the unit trust back at a higher price, Usually the date of reinvestment is the date of distribution, so your don't have to worry. It is stated in their historical distribution page.which means that we actually lose more money with the dividend reinvested compared to no dividend at all. |

QUOTE(T231H @ Sep 5 2017, 05:33 PM) just like my dead grandma used to be worried about when getting out of the house or in the house.... ya man~ no guarantee thing in this world~worried like.... will our house being burgled when we are not in, will she be knocked down by a car while crossing the road, will she choke eating tang yuan will she have allergies eating this or that, will bank cheats on her savings, will she....etc, etc all I think are valid concerns.......so are what 'IF" suddenly banks, EPF or National registration suddenly losses "MY" data ....I maybe left with not such person. everything we do or no do have risks.....just that the impact, probability of it happening and the opportunity cost maybe not the same to others..... if they want it...they will gives reasons for wanting it,....if they don't want it...they will gives a lot of excuses.......both are legitimate responses. looks like this recent parting shot of about the same concern is relevant......after all it is their money and their valid concern... after all i am just sharing what i feel good to my friend, take it or leave it, it's their money not our responsobility |
