QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 6 2017, 02:01 PM) The point is for me, EPF is another parking place until opportunity comes along. Aa long as rafizi and gang does not uncover dirt on EPF, I am cool with it. how can you park money on epf? How to take out? There is zero liquidity, u park money in from ur own pocket then it gonna stay there. unless u talking about using EPF to buy EPF approved funds. This post has been edited by ben3003: Aug 6 2017, 02:33 PM |

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Sep 2 2017, 12:49 PM) I think Xuzen meant RM20k per fund is too little (for his age group). U already get 20% of ur monthly salary from force savings by our government. I believe it depends on what u are heavy at. Some only have 100k cash investments and savings but maybe 3-4properties each ranging from 500k-700k bank value, does it means he is in trouble? If a person has only around RM100k (RM20k x 5 funds) in investments or savings in his mid or late 40's, he is in trouble. The money is not enough to form the base for his retirement. |

QUOTE(2387581 @ Sep 5 2017, 04:58 PM) Does it ever occurred to you that PM may close down too? Even saving account PIDM insured also not fully insured lo.. 250k is the limit only.. if u put 1 mil inside saving account, later bank close down u can get back 250k only..It may sound sarcastic but it is real. Any legit investment channel, though regulated by SC and FIMM, doesn't mean your capital is protected, as it is so in a FD bank account insured by PIDM. PMB (FM) is a separate entity from PBB (Bank). Or you may want to be even safe (or maybe not), look at the annual report of the fund which you want to invest in, select say 30 counters, and buy into the underlying stock instead of doing it via UT. I think the chance of 30 companies closing down together at the same time is rather slim, and the % of upfront fee is much lower (FSM sales charge 1.75% compared to brokerage, say 0.106%) http://www.pidm.gov.my/en/for-public/depos...verage-for-dis/ |

my EI GEM is rather bullish tis yr, compared to EI GL fund which is US heavy. i think what Kokman say is right, if ur portfolio is diversed, u can just ride the boat when they switch money.
