There seems to be a myriad of investments to choose from, and I am just bewildered at the options available!
Considering that I am a total no0b, which instruments should I go for? UT/bonds/PRS?? In case this helps: 1) Limited disposable income 2) Medium-to-long term investment 3) No need for liquidity - the investment money is not meant to be dipped 4) Minimum entry investment - and minimum/ no fees for subsequent top-ups 5) No very frequent monitoring of investment performance |

With the above, I believe PRS would be a good start, especially if you are between 20-30 years old this year which entitles you another rm1000 one off incentive from the government as long as you have gross contributions of at least rm1000 in a single prs fund before end of 2018.Considering that I am a total no0b, which instruments should I go for? UT/bonds/PRS?? PRS is the most obvious choice based on your requirements.Considering that I am a total no0b, which instruments should I go for? UT/bonds/PRS?? In case this helps: 1) Limited disposable income 2) Medium-to-long term investment 3) No need for liquidity - the investment money is not meant to be dipped 4) Minimum entry investment - and minimum/ no fees for subsequent top-ups 5) No very frequent monitoring of investment performance But in my experience liquidity is always a problem somewhere along in life n unless u are ultra rich, u probably need to dip into your long term savings to smooth things out. So for me at least, UT is the obvious choice. |

PRS is a good choice, since it has RM3k Tax deduction for the next few years, but I wouldn't top-up more than RM3k annually though.Considering that I am a total no0b, which instruments should I go for? UT/bonds/PRS?? In case this helps: 1) Limited disposable income 2) Medium-to-long term investment 3) No need for liquidity - the investment money is not meant to be dipped 4) Minimum entry investment - and minimum/ no fees for subsequent top-ups 5) No very frequent monitoring of investment performance and for leftover disposable income, I would pump it into UT. |
