Usually it's the IF and your RAM causing issues. Lower your RAM speed or perhaps up the voltage and see how it goes.

................Guys, I just discovered an issue with my 5950x X570 Aorus Master.

For unknown reason, my cpu doesn't seem to idle the voltage?

Attached Image

With minor modification to VSOC 1.0v, I am able to reduce the SOC Power from 18w to 12w.
But for unknown reason, the CPU Core Voltage stuck at 1.45V? I don't think this is normal as my 3950x can idle at 1.0V.

Any advice? I tried to set Vcore offset, but it doesn't seem to ....work? confused.gif

edit: Setting Power Plan to energy saver cause the VCore to idle at 0.9V. But balanced power profile causes it to idle at 1.45V. Weird

Check startup and background apps. Apps like Corsair iCUE stops it from going low power mode. The more apps you run at the same time, the lower chance it can go idle mode. Ryzen have shitty idle power management.

I have Winamp, Battle.net, Steam, Whatsapp desktop and Microsoft Edge with a few tabs on both AMD and Intel rig. Intel stays idle mode.

USB dropout fix is coming next month.

under volt to 1.25v without lost of performance is the best option.

Nothing at startup, I don't use those software.
When I took that screenshot, nothing is running at background and foreground.
Not virus scanning or defrag or torrent running.
Hell, I even ensured Chrome not running (This Chrome often run in background, have to click disabled running at background after closed option)

Not exactly working.
The dynamic vcore offset only works on Vcore at HWInfo
The CPU Core Voltage (SVI2 TFN) and CPU Core VID (Effective) still stuck at 1.45V.

My Zen 2 3950X properly downvolt at idle to 1.081V or even lower to 0.9V something for CPU Core Voltage (SVI2 TFN) and upvolt to 1.462V when there is activity.
Attached Image

Not sure why Zen 3 5950X stuck at 1.45V for CPU Core Voltage (SVI2 TFN).

Your BIOS settings. Some of it will stops it from going idle. Especially overclock.

Windows power settings is another.

5950X X570 Gigabyte BIOS is default other than fan settings, RAM XMP, IF and VSOC adjustment.

5950X doesn't have 3950x "unique" Windows Power Plan.

Could be due to die deterioration too. my ryzen also start to show signs weeks after use and then it's just an endless troubleshoot.

your ram will be the first suspect in this whole case. just run them at 2444mhz for a few months and see. Remove most components, set pcie to gen3, use only 1 hdd drive and monitor. reformat your PC.

Or just go with intel if youre tired of AMD's reliability issues.

as for the idle voltage and temps... Just forget about it and let the cpu bake itself. it's a ryzen behavior and not a bug. If you want it to truly idle then you just check your task manager and close everything that is running, especially afterburner and all monitoring apps.

Took them more than 1 whole gen to acknowledge it is an AGESA issue and i wonder what those dufus who kept defending AMD would say about this. Thankfully i dont have to face all this crap anymore.

Currently using Ugreen USB 3.0 switch for both AMD and Intel rig on USB 3.0 port and its powered by Anker Powerport.

https://shopee.com.my/UGREEN-USB-Switch-Sel...3440.1133224526

Got Sound Blaster X3, Corsair K70 Mk.2 and Logitech G502 Hero plugged into it. No issue so far.

Lavry da11 doesnt work at all, smsl m3 random disconnects.

Hub is some cheap one, also doesnt work at all. Need to use one with additional external power. especially for racing rig

The first ducky keyboard 1008 doesnt work, need ps/2 adapter. g304 mouse random disconnect. taobao mech keyboard only works on USB3.0 ports.

High end and power sucking devices may need USB 3.0 or powered hub. Even my USB 3.1 HDD enclosure will not work on some of the USB 3.0 port. I had to use powered USB 3.0 hub for it or USB 3.1 ports.

They all happens when the cpu in idle mode for random WHEA also when in bios default settings with NO XMP enabled. Make sure it's not caused by other issues or drivers or any OC settings.
Your only best solution is to RMA the cpu. And welcome to the club. another casualty to add to the statistics in https://www.overclock.net/threads/replaced-...eboots.1774627/
5950x are very prone to random WHEA blue screen.
