As suspected, AMD still perform poorly compared to Intel in Total War. However, considering that R5 1500X have 8 threads compared to either i5-7400 or i5-7500 it's still a good choice. Just hope that AMD CPU will follow AMD GPU driver/updates wise. smile.gif

they using Titan X Pascal. seems like you may get better result out of dx12 games with AMD gpu + Ryzen. something with Ryzen still being new and game developers/AMD/Nvidia has yet to optimize their code to take advantage of Ryzen.

I'm actually surprised to see that there's performance gap when on GTX 1060 and RX 480,

Going through the details, they're running at 720p with lowest quality details - wth, when you do that, the CPU performance gap will be apparent.

I respect them for their test methodology but I don't think they should do that, in fact it actually makes it look worse as many people (unfortunately) just assumes that the Ryzen setup is bad immediately.

I feel that they should just run Full HD and max out the details, at least that's what I'm doing.

Oh well, looks like I'm going to do some tests similar to that but with GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580.

i also not sure why it is 720p, didnt watch it completely. i think many sites already did 1080p ultra like these: but yea it is not Ryzen bad, but because it is new architecture, maybe various sources not yet optimize for it.

Test at 720p to compare a cpu ipc performance at gaming, coz not everyone can accept ryzen cincai, they want the best gaming CPU without lost any 1% performance, just OSDer. =w=

Truth that ryzen IPC is lose to i7 7700k, even a i7 6900k which can OC 4.3 and above. Tats why ryzen also slower in Photoshop =w=

Hi.. goldfires

Do you have any idea whether Dual Rank RAM will get update to support above 2667MHz or not?

If you ask me, Nvidia drivers are not properly optimized. Look at RX 480 numbers.

After watching few reviews, the drop for 1080P on GTX 1070 is huge on Ryzen CPU. So Vega?

Don't have to run at 720p low details to see that BUT it's exaggerating the matter.

I bought a 1700 and Asus Prime B350M-A today, tested everything and it was stable at 3.7ghz@1.3v.

However the reading in hwmonitor seems to be the same as my bios setting, but in CPU-Z it shows 1.6-1.9v shocking.gif

I already updated the bios to the latest 0604.

My bios setting is 37 multiplier, vcore is offset, standard is 1.1875, offset +0.1.

I'm hoping it's just bad reading from the software sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

Used to working in new zealand before, thought gov need money for better enviroment and economy, tats why NZ pc parts its about 30-35% expensive than US amazon price.
Currently, malaysia pc parts almost 15~25% than amazon price, but hard afford than NZ resident.

Amazon usd 530 gtx 1080 (approx RM 2330), but u get same card in malaysia with RM3099. FTW~~~

We dont worry, if Vega price at USD500 in US, we will need to pay bout USD650 www

See, that's exactly what I've been telling people.

With high-end GPU you will see that the Ryzen lacks the power to push it

BUT

it's limited to certain games only, AND the gap diminishes at higher resolution and / or lower range graphics card.

Is it because of bottleneck or because optimization, still cannot confirm yet. Since there here lot of small buggy around @@
I think just give time to see whats going on ~ Can conclusion after time given.
I means wait for Vega which an really perform against gtx1080, CF vega will get us see how's ryzen can done in 4k gaming.

Anyway, i dont really care all game run 4k 60fps XD coz i cant afford 2 gtx1080ti at the moment of performance/dollar XD

My opinion, ryzen make a right point currently, for targetting most of ppl can run faster cpu power demand job even its not the fastest.
If as bulldozer, thats called failure, coz make the wrong point.

What i currently do is , USD -> MYR = X5.

Whenever there a release/announcement for the price in USD then i'll just x 5. and that the price when it reaches Malaysia.
But if USD 500 for GTX1080/Ti equivalent power~ i'll take it~ and save more on the Monitor.

Yeah, agree, our economy worst ever merosot, rakyat lose buying power, even buy an intel G4560 also expensive already, amd ryzen comes in premium price in wrong place and wrong time, especially Malaysia, don't expect good sales, same as intel I7 and I5 and I3 bad sales, mostly hot items enough for today titles games peoples pick pentium G4560, RX460, GTX 1050/ 1050Ti. Dealers sales log record can prove this. Even G4560 now is out of stock sad.gif
