I have RHB FD matured today 9th June, can i uplift today or can only do it tomorrow?
*
FD mature day uplifting is possible, as long as you uplift after 12 noon or else they probably will forfeit your interest earning, that's what I heard.

Oh no… not pursuing that kind of return as FD still good. more like trying to understand how all these work as alternatives especially that klibor rate..???? Noobie.. sorry.

So far how is the return in general? Acceptable?
*
return 5.5% much better than Fd
better than EPF also unless EPF increases dividend this year.
so far so good

More risky product must pay more la
eg Tropicana bonds 7%

I stated before. Do not assume BI does this automatically. Their system does not do that. It depends on the person opening the FD. So for the rest please remind them. Affin will pay. You need to set to auto renew, then the next working day go withdraw. Remind the counter people. I have had many Affins FD done this way. So far only RHB is the most strict. Even PB pays for the weekend abeit at board rate.
*
Your experience with BI on Sat FD maturity, is it recently or some time back when they have FD promo ? Today I also placed 1 FD in BI and again
the maturity date adjusted to the Monday. It seems to me more likely to be system generated. They may have updated their system since your last
encounter.

Though it is a good idea to check the maturity date at time of placement to see if we get into the Sat/Sun/holiday maturity date.

Affin wise, your method seems good. But some banks does not allow us to choose for FD promo, whether we can choose to auto renew or on maturity to go
to SA (for principal and interest). Not too sure for Affin on this aspect (I thought it does not allow auto renewal for Affin ??). BI wise for this promo, I asked
for termination but was told it will go to auto renew on maturity.

wah yours so fast.

today i went to do. they need 2~3 days to clear the banker's cheque.. so today can open savings account only..

once the cheque cleared then have to return back to BI to do fd placement..  sweat.gif
*
finally done placed fd this morning at BI just before their system went down for "maintenance"..

this time round took like 30 mins as others mentioned before..

oh and also yes their fd maturity bring to the earliest working day if fall on weekend..

but when i requested for it the officer told me they cant decide it, it is based on their system.. so it is automated.. hmm.gif

Affin regardless of promotion always allow for auto renew. If not you can change the instructions later. BI first time I placed, it matures on a Sat on the cert. That time the staff says system generated. It was later another staff did another FD it falls on a Monday though it should fall on Sunday. Only after this incident I tell the counter staff to move to the next working day every time I place BI FD. Only RHB refused and very strict.

BI OTC FD can terminate online if needed. Which is convenient in case of need.

Their paid profit/interest shown in the FD cert., for next years maturity, it did show additional days (to working day say Monday) additional interest. Also they use 365 instead of 366 for next year. Another plus point for them.

Saw quite some Chinese in BI, looks like words are out that they have the best rate for now !

Bank Islam 12m @ 4.5% , monthly interest ?

Is there an option to open non-fee savings acc (WITHOUT debit card ) or is savings account OPTIONAL should there be no monthly interest?

Bank Islam 12m @ 4.5% profit(interest) is paid at the end of the 12 month tenure. Not monthly.
You can open a Basic Saving Account -i. No service or maintenance charge will be imposed on the account.
