Next week May month, hopefully can have even better promo. If not, will go for CIMB 4.2% but has to open CA.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Nov 7 2018, 07:19 AM) just place it whichever matured lor. no need wait. Yeah, might just do that. Thanks for your advice interest is calculated on daily basis, place early, earn early. you can even see the acrrued interest in cimb clicks as time goes by. since it's eFD, easy to manage too. also, who knows if cimb decided to end the promo early in between those days while you waiting for all to mature. |

looks like AFFIN 13mths @4.4% and HLB e-FD 4.2% @6mths are the only choices for me now.... better lock in longer tenure though.

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ May 13 2019, 11:12 PM) No, cannot. maybe put 10 k first to open acc... then next day bring the bigger one. Anyway,You have to bring your IC and driver's license to go to their branch to place FD. And prepare they will ask you a lot of questions regarding to your source of fund for your first time placement. Second time and onward when you place more FD with them, they will not ask anymore... 1) is the cert taken on the spot and on the day of placement ? 2) have to open Savings account regardless of 6 months or 24 months ? 3) any charges opening SA ? ( Affin charges RM10) 4) snail service ? Also planning to go Sri Petaling branch .... is there anyone I should look for /avoid ? Thanks in advance This post has been edited by sweetpea123: May 13 2019, 11:54 PM |

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ May 14 2019, 12:22 AM) (1) For my case, I can only get my FD cert after 2 or 3 working days. But they will give a yellow receipt after submit check to BI. But some members here mentioned that they can get FD cert on the spot. (2) Yes, you have to open a saving account (RM 20 to open), so that interest can deposit to your saving account every 3 months. And you can open a internet banking, but this will require you to get an ATM card which cost you RM 8 per year. Keep in mind if you want to use internet banking, your saving account has to be a single name, cannot put under joint name. (3) No..no charge to open a BI saving account. RM 20 is just an initial deposit to open a saving account. You say you just want to open a basic saving account ... (4) What is snail service? (5) One customer rep will help you to open a FD account. All staffs there are okay... (6) Very important, do not forget to insist and remind BI to get your FD effective on the same day. You are welcome.. QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ May 14 2019, 01:02 AM) Yes, very slow. The staff didnt know , saying as and when HQ wanna withdraw, they will. The brochure (attached below) mentioned 30 June though. But judging from the low rates other banks are offering, the quota should be snapped up b4 promo ends. Hope that answer your question. By the way, decided to put in Affin Bank 4.15 @15months and just try RM10k for starters at BI, but only 1 person opening accounts and there were few more waiting, I will try another day. Especially for the first time to place FD, because they will "interview" you, asking too many personal and privacy questions just like treating a criminal, quite scary. You'd better prepare how to explain your source of fund, and your background. Please get ready to stay at least one hour there for the first time. Priority banking? I am not sure if they have this or not? No need to worry lah...they will not check you, but just ask you some personal questions only... By the way, can you ask Bank Islam tomorrow, 4.4% FD promo for 6 months is available until when? Thank you And cannot get FD cert on the same day, takut cheque bounced woh QUOTE(joeblow @ May 14 2019, 02:32 PM) Today went Affin Bank, 13 months @4.15% The BM didnt tell me, which branch you went ?Got latest promotion but not declared (to be given by branch manager) 24 months @4.35% Islamic. Conventional is 4.45% but need 5% of principal to CASA. OTC. This post has been edited by sweetpea123: May 14 2019, 08:25 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |
