As I had a previous account, now I'm having issues accessing my savings account via online & have to go back to the branch again. QUOTE(c64 @ Sep 4 2021, 12:21 PM) Affin Bank has one of the worst bank account opening procedures....open a saving account need to fill up so many pages of form. I transfer money out of the country also no need so many forms. With the pandemic, seems like is a pain to open a bank account at most places... I already have an affin savings account but to qualify for Invikta promo rates, I need to open an Invikta account which is as slow as opening new to bank account. Bank Muamalat is equally as slow. rocketm liked this post

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Aug 12 2021, 05:19 PM) 9-month FD/TD-i & CASA/-i Combined Campaign [ Ambank | T&Cs ] I just noticed i got extra interest credited into my account last week after I place this (I’m Spb customer and holding amwafeeq) Apparently there is another Casa campaign for spb customer going on right now. Campaign Period : 1 August 2021 - 31 October 2021 Times are uncertain but our returns are rock solid. Make a fresh funds placement in Fixed Deposit/Term Deposit-i (FD/TD-i) and Current or Savings Account/Current or Savings Account-i (CASA/CASA-i) for 9 months and enjoy returns of up to 2.88% p.a. ![]() Terms and conditions: Minimum Combined amount of RM10,000 and up to maximum of RM2,000,000 (No capping for AmWafeeq Savings Accountholders). Placement ratio: 80% in FD/TD-i and 20% in CASA/CASA-i. Both FD/TD-i and CASA/CASA-i accounts must be earmarked for nine (9) months. Subject to immediate revision should there be any change to the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR). Upon maturity, FD/TD-i will be renewed at the prevailing board rate for the same tenure. Partial withdrawal of the FD/TD-i or CASA/CASA-i before the completion of Tenure is not allowed and the Eligible Customer(s) shall not be allowed to enjoy any interest/profit rate* whatsoever. Applicable for placements made over the counter only at any AmBank/AmBank Islamic branch. *Conventional terminologies are applicable to AmBank products, while Islamic terminologies are applicable to AmBank Islamic products. ![]() The calculation is a bit complex they will calculate your ‘MAB incremental’. But if you are a priority customer and place with this fd promo you might have higher effective rates. Cuz the money that locked in your saving account (at least 20k) will have extra 1.5% interest on that month. |

I remember asking them and there was something that turned me off....but I forgot what QUOTE(Human Nature @ Sep 7 2021, 06:53 PM) When I joined, i was not told of any yearly charges incurred or minimum amount to maintain. As what I understand the amount to maintain Invikta status is RM 200k.I was asked to apply the credit card but I declined & only opted for ATM card instead. Bank Muamalat 18 months 2.8% pa. promo can opt online for monthly interest sweetpea123 and Human Nature liked this post

QUOTE(c64 @ Sep 9 2021, 12:57 AM) u are right, usually younger people should go for more high risk and high returns investment. Older people especially those above 50 have accumulated large amount of $$ and prefer super low risk FD as the interest itself is more than average salary in KL |

BNM OPR will be decided today. My guess is that it will REMAIN at 1.75 All the upcoming FD promotional rates (good or bad) will hinge on today's decision

It took me about 2 hours to re-open my savings account the other day with a total of about 7 customers in queue with 2 counters opened. This was at the Jalan Ipoh branch, KL. I would say Affin might be slower. QUOTE(LoTek @ Sep 9 2021, 08:56 AM) Same here, i'm not near 50 years old but been following this forum for years... |
