Don't get me wrong.
It won't work with readers where you need to physically insert your card into a slot such as those found at gas stations and on ATMs.

Not sure at BHP as some petrol kiosk equip with NFC(PayWave/PayPass).
Anyone can confirm this?

Thanks.

I have not tried using Samsung Pay at BHP PayPass enabled pumps because all the cards I have are Visa, but I have tried using Samsung Pay at pump but they always fail. What I do is that I use my driving license to trigger the card reading switch, I done it at Caltex, Petron and Petronas all failed. The pumps do read my card especially Caltex where is the transaction fails it will print out a receipt and my receipt said "Swipe method" which means it read the Samsung Pay MST but cannot authenticate.

So what you meant by using Samsung Pay is you went inside at the cashier to pay?

I thought can use at the pump itself where we would usually insert our card into the reader.

So Samsung Pay doesn't work at the pump itself right?

Short answer is, No. BHP with Mastercard PayPass is an exception.

From my perspective I would say those that stop accepting Samsung Pay are stupid. Its people or corporations like these that Malaysia can't advance in the field of technologies.

last time when i was using at myNEWS, i see they can accept pay wave, so i tell them i want use paywave....once i use samsung pay and they ask for credit card number to key in the system for accounting purpose i guess, i say don't have, i think their supervisor sorta "snap" saying it should not go through (she meant credit card terminal) yada yada yada....

in the end she just let it slide without having able to key in into their POS with a not happy face, mind you this is at KLIA

maybe this incident trigger the stop acceptance of samsung pay blush.gif

Spot on. I wonder for places that dont support samsung pay, if we just say paywave, then use samsung pay instead are they going to decline?

Today samsung pay page from samsung gear app suddenly show options to redeem rewards. I thought gear users are eligible for reward points now cause that option was not available before. But after checking their FAQ, looks like it's still not available. Lol.

i offered to tap on the pos second time, they say cannot or something whatever weird reason they give, i dont bother to argue

all i can say is they are not flexible.......especially the so called senior/supervisor

they actually can just key in whatever is in the receipt,

eg, the receipt print 123 xxxx xxxxx 1234

they could just key in the system as 123 0000 00000 1234.

if the bank want to let them see, they won't censored it in the first place.

furthermore, my card paywave/SPay limit is open up to RM3k, no way in hell i am going to let them copy my physical credit card detail.

that why la i dont see any significant reason why they need our CC number(lucky now need pin, sms and so on, increase protection)even bank also make the terminal either give front or/and back number due to privacy...... why cannot become normal merchant and just slot in/swipe/touch and go... that is the purpose of CC/DC/CC and so on card...

the actual card paywave no need pin, that's the problem

and some bank, don't give SMS notification for paywave transaction and Pin verified transaction

i am more afraid if my card is clone, like what i heard case in UK, more scary is they skim your card and key-log your pin, when you slot in your card in so call "legit retail store credit card terminal".

alot people just give in when the cashier ask, but who compensate you if they misused the information or the credit card information stolen and be used for fraud???
