i suggest we group together once a week with emergency car tailing us from behind..each of us just have to pay a fees for that..say like 10 of us go together each one pay rm20 to the driver for 4 hrs ride....does tis sound abit too ridiculous?

the need to have an emergency car really depends on the length of the ride. Normally its only really needed for rides above 100km, especially if you're heading interstate or something, where help will be hours away at best.
things I carry with me on all rides are: - spare tube - hand pump - tire patch kit - spare chain link - chain break tool
these basically caters for the 2 things that are most likely to happen, tire punctures and chains breaking
KH Cycle is the official store for Ritchey and Scott.. Not to mention Lightweight wheelsets too and Look bike..
thx bro..it is the specialized boutique shop right? will drop by at the place to look around..

not that one, it's name is KH Cycle with big Scott logo Don't mistaken it for Bike Pro in SS15
until now i'm not sure what it is but when I brought my bike to pedalspot..the technical guy there (I called him Joe, but derrick called him Kent, dunno which name) said that's normal as a sign of the bike has undergone its running in period. But still it happened right after I fixed my rear tube..quite weird..now its a whole lot buzzier..and it affect my mind that when free rolling down a hill the buzzy sounds like there is resistance on the bb rather than if it is less buzzy hence I feel it make my wheel slower
anyway where can I find Ritchey products here in KL? which bike shop? I want to search for this item. Ritchey WCS Carbon Curve Road Bars.
Kent it is...
the hub noise is not really of the concern here... if you really like to quiet it down, you can get them to take apart the freewheel and stuff more grease in... but i think more grease will result in more drag than you currently have now...if you do intend to do that... try to get it done in KSH SS2.. i noticed they have the green motorex grease there
most of my previous SRAM, Xero and Fulcrum also got louder after i acquired it... i now ride shimano silent clutch hubs...
this is what i will call unacceptable noise... spoils nice quiet rides in the forests...
Industry 9.. 120 points of engagement...
comparison between CK and i9
here comes the fulcrums... R5s... not to say very loud... but the clicks are very distinct...
R0s on higher coasting speeds.
and finally ... what is your set of wheels.
normal novatecs... still loud but the frequency of the clicks are lower due to less engagement points... CK has 72 while novatec is mostly around 24 or 36...

it's too much la... and furthermore with support car... who do you think will allow a support car to be hogging the road to shield you guys from traffic...
the best it can do is drive up front to a pre-destined spot and wait for you guys or wait for your calls for help...
friend's wife used to be the support car driver... the whole gang always get an earful after the ride... but nowadays with the advent of ipads and stuff... maybe it can be less boring...10 years ago.. you only have gameboy and gamegear that runs out of battery before you can finish a ride

for me... this things are not a call for support cars... unless you are in a race.. it'd be good to have a car nearby in case of mishaps and you need the car to transport the injured rider immediately to a hospital or something...
if not, then you need to have some spare wheels or bike on the car to make most sense out of it.. jus to carry some spare tubes and tools is too much... it can be a sweeper / broom car too for the french surrender monkeys..

Anyone riding in Desa Park City before? Can share your experience? Traffic wise? TQ
desa park city is OK depending on timing... if you go in the morning it is quite peaceful and serene... a lot of people go for walks at the central park area in the morning and evening...
evening maybe a bit more frantic with the dinner crowd coming in... not really a big loop and nothing much of a good ride.. i go there on occasions for a stroll and primarily to ride park city hill...sometimes very nice to watch the sunset there... you climb all the way past the top of the hill roundabout to the top water reservoir...

i think somebody is willing to do that RM200 for 4 hours...pretty profitable if u ask me...
in that case... better get the ones interested to commit enough for a couple of rides... or else it will be like those housing area security where 2 or of 10 will not be willing to pay... and the entire plan falls apart...
this has to be a willing thing rather than paid in my opinion (not a kiam siap issue or anything)... if no wives... each rider take turn to drive support and forgo their chance to ride when it is their turn...

haha. I thought it's the specialized shop at the strand...well2..where is this KH Cycle..
we are "fortunate" to have many bike shops in KL... and the expensive boutique or concept store styled ones...

we did a 40k with 2 escort car.. overkill? lol.. previously was 3
that was big bunch training ma... organized training sessions are acceptable la... since the organizer has the responsibility to keep everyone safe and watch over the idiots who might try some funny stunts to endanger the group...
if you say training... even the pro fellas will only run support vehicles in large training camps when all the team's riders get together for a pre-race reconnaissance or pre-season trainings... other than that, they just ride like all us mere mortals... with saddles bags filled with emergency essentials...

Speaking of which, if you're riding on a bike lane, or at spots where the roads are only single lane, then its not really viable to have a support car trailing behind too.
Location Services on phones these days is a great tool as well. Don't need to describe where you are, just send out your location to the person you're calling for help assuming that you can get a signal that is.

agreed... phone is of utmost importance.. it is your last line of call for help when no one is around to help...
i personally don't like smartphones for reasons that it runs down batteries too fast.... if i were to head out with a less than half charged phone... i have to worry that i lose my ability to call for help if i am deserted... on top of that, you'd be listening to music and doing data logs which kills it even faster...
of course it is arguable that it is also the phone owners responsibility to make sure that the batteries are charged the night prior to a ride...
also knowledge of your riding route is important too... like knowing parts of genting sempah has low or almost no cell signal is important.. having fallen down a ravine and find that you have a fully charged phone with no cell tower signals is as good as not having one...
at the end of the day... it's all about your survival skills on the road and your ability to adapt to though situations...

haha butthead..thx for those youtube videos..damn they sounded like a machine..feels a bit 'garang' when you suddenly approaching another cyclist on his rear wheels.
but yeah a bit troubling when you want to enjoy the peaceful scenery..but i admit I like the sound..could it be coming only from an expensive wheels?
Okay my wound is better day by day. Manage to go out and have makan with my gang. Can walk slowly but still cant run. I wondered how long my woun will heal
The below is pic of my injuries 4 days after the accident. It kinda bloody on teh day of accident and I have no mood to take the pic at that time. Today it looks way better than this. Put into spoiler mode just so that i don spoil ppl mood U can see how skinny am I lor at 50kg/49kg. There are some aussie chick who are wayy skinnier than me and it doesnt look good

My right hand, I was wearing glove at that time and the glove was torn apart which cause these 2 wound. Look small but its painful cause some ppl tend to press very hard during handshake I had to admit the glove does protect my other hand as i can feel the pain after the crash but without any noticable injuries/wound to it

My left hand, I dunno what happend in the crash perhaps got dragged on the road for few M's? Not as bad compared to my right hand.

My right hand, the biggest injuries based on the real estate it holds on my hand, considering i fell down on the right hand side (the last thing i could remember before the crash) blooded badly at the time of accident.

The one that still hurt the most espcilly during walking and I still cant run as it pain like mad That is my tigh and a part of my ass butt area (see the mark on upper left side) doesnt look big but then it the most painful of all My bib shorts torn apart and alot of blood stain in it
My face also kena as in long streak over my lips and a ding mark on my right cheek. I so worried my face will get deformed and I will lose my good looks. Thankfully now it is healed and most ppl wont see any noticeable marks there unless u see VERY closely. I was thankful i was wearing sunglasses during the crash as the frame was scratched badly and the lens were scratched too. Cant imagine I got into the crash without it Thankfully no broken bone or teeth
After the crash i had to take public bus to nearest clinic to do dressing on my wound while the wound bleeding out t
