Guys, if my main objective is to train fitness and i work from 9-9pm on weekdays. Is road bike or mountain bike more suitable for me? My budget is R RM4500 max. Can recommend a best beginner road bike for that price range?

I am new to road bikes.

I am quite sure I am going to ride for at least 6 hours a week.

How much should I spend? THANKS BUTTHEAD FOR YOUR IN DEPTH ANALYSIS. I READ EVERY WORD OF THEM.

The question is also whether after spending so much and encroached into a medium range or expert range bikes, I would not have the skills to control the bike and end up falling and breaking the bikes into bits..

Assuming my budget is 4.5k only, which bike would you recommend?

hey Butthead morning ! What do you think of Trek 1.2? I think it's ard 3k. Anyone own the bike can give me some review? Personal one! hehe.

I dont really like Trek actually, after going to GH Speedbikes in Kota Damansara. Their service is much better.

But it has got good reviews online though the Trek 1.2.

Pricey? What is a fair price then for a 9 speed? Maybe i should consider specialized since their services are very good. But for 3k + budget i think my option is allez (the cheapest model). Is that better than trek 1.2?

Conclusion,

As i am new to road bike AND i do not know how passionate i will become. I set my budget to 3k by getting a Trek 1.2 or Specialized Allez Sport Compact (both priced at 3k)

Maybe if I get really interested into it, I will consider a custom built road bike after, say for 2 years.

Will i be making a bad choice buying specialized allez? anyone got experience?

in fact i asked the salesperson from specialized they told me they using better frame ANNNND their brand is big.. which i think the latter sounds so much more convincing....but besides frame..saddle, seatpost etc ect those minor minor components also can make up the diff rite...of course brand premium is there

another thing...will i crash? if i will, no point buying a good brand and crash it rite..

i attached the photo... it;s red/white... i rode it for 1 hour... well the brake abit sux....the bike descend like a king to the point i m wondering am i the 2nd time on road bike...recommend for beginner hehe...

classic events??? anyway found out alot of surface in mont kiara is made up of arranged bricks..ifi u noe wat i mean i forgot the term for it...so secteur with the absorber thingy works quite well to tat...but still it performs the best on tarmac....i hope i din make the wrong choice......

my mindset was like well allez is more difficult and more racy .. and i dun wan to end up crashing since allez it's more difficult to command and too fast..let me learn how to ride properly on skinny wheels...maybe next one go for a true racing bikes....

very scared to make the wrong choice...u noe why....i oni got 1 bullet ...now no more liao...my door to the world of choices is shut !

i was reading secteur vs allez the whole morning..... seems to suggest that allez is a honda city while secteur is toyota vios.

to be more factual, allez is more suitable if you are gonna ride it for 1 hour and below but if gonna ride it for more than 1 hour the comfy offered by secteur will serve u better.

anyone going to putrajaya to ride soon? let me know. hehe. i have no friend is into biking..so unhealthy!
