QUOTE(rjb123 @ Jan 5 2011, 01:10 PM) Any opinions on Giant TCR3 road bike ? Written off the idea of shipping my bike from the UK due to shipping costs (RM1000+) and worried it could get damanged in transit etc. that sounds cheap.Wanna find a good and cheap roadbike too.Maybe my budget will be 2k.But later got money better upgrade to SRAM RED groupset(min budget for a decent good groupset)Went to a bike shop and TCR3 (alu frame, carbon fork) is available for around RM2500 , does this sound reasonable? I haven't ridden for over 9 months since I came to Malaysia, only ever in UK where I'm used to having a full carbon Cannondale (Synapse, 2008 model) will I notice much difference? Of course still need to budget for pedals/shoes etc. Or any other brand / model to recommend around the same price range? I can spend up to RM3500 for everything ... Need suggestion for roadboke.RM 2k |

QUOTE(rjb123 @ Jan 19 2011, 04:52 PM) Cannondale Synapse is what I have , very happy with it since I got it , was my first road bike. But with 105, not Tiagra groupset. maybe yours is Synapse 5 (105) and Synapse 6 is Tiagra. And anyone who's MTB here wanna try Bukit Dinding trail? It's pretty amazing with the switchbacks |

my dad started cycling.what I told him is just set your daily cycling distance and average/day.
Eg if I cycle 12km today with average 28.4km/h, I'll increase the distance and try to do my best increasing the average speed. That'll motivate me to cycle. And also route planning affects your activity too.If you tend to go cycle uphill with 12 km, I guarantee that most of your cycling uphill later will be much easier. Added on March 18, 2011, 11:15 am QUOTE(seejun87 @ Mar 9 2011, 03:54 PM) I also wish can cycle with you guy...but my car still at Hometown(Taiping,Perak)...not yet drive back. even folding bike they halau my friend out.Malaysia.like usual. Our government don't want to make extra train coaches just to fit bicycles. Haih.....No car...cant go til there. Someore cant take bicycle in LRT...if can, i might can go lol...! Malaysia lay not allow bicycle in LRT..unless folding Bike nia. So now im just cycle in my house area there lol...not siok. But Where can i cycle in Wangsamaju ar? The route same like Kesas geh? I think i only can join your guy after March lol.... QUOTE(Fookz @ Apr 27 2011, 09:47 PM) no need skill lar bro, just need to cycle alot and plan how to use your stamina properly when climbing and going downhill Added on April 28, 2011, 1:30 pm QUOTE(cheeshion @ Apr 25 2011, 08:27 PM) Hi riders, Now Anuar Manan hangs alot at JBS Wangsa Maju.He meets his housemate Awie there.I cycle with him sometimes when he's free. I have been loitering and shopping at the bicycle shops around Klang Valley for awhile. Getting to know different brands and products each carries, and expand my cycling networking too. Just a summary on the bike shops I have been to... 1. KSH Cycles (TTDI) First, don't get confuse with KSH SS2 near Taman Megah, as they are different bosses at all. A small but compact shops, more for XC and DH bikes. There are few frames (on different brands) options for roadies too. Most importantly, very friendly and customer-centered service. 2. KSH (SS2) Very neat, and clean show room, you won't be missed on the shop as the BIG Merida signboard on top. There are plenty of roadie jerseys to choose, and easily get poisoned to spend more... 3. Joo Ngan's Son (I'm Cyclist, Damansara Uptown) Very friendly boss, and plenty of bike accessories. Appropriate pricing, and helpful staffs. They are nice to lodgers, even you are just window shopping. 4. BikePro (Taman Megah) A place where you can meet pro riders occasionally, like Anuar M, Haffis and L2a team too. Plenty of shoes choices like Sidi, DMT; and other accessories too. Fully air-conditioned show room with Scott bikes mainly. This is a place where I can shop "quietly", without disturbance. 5. Due Roda Extreme (Shah Alam) It carries bike for Bianchi, shared with superbikes next door. Good thing is, you can try on different Super-duper Bikes (engine idle, of cause) if you get bored on self-powered "dua roda". One more thing, you will be served by a MTB champion... He can be your riding companion (or coach) too! These are just my experience, my apology if anything sounded bias. Happy shopping, and "kayuh" always... Added on April 28, 2011, 1:32 pm QUOTE(kaizer @ Apr 24 2011, 01:11 AM) LOL... Mind to share which excellent shop recommended you that option? Selling ur current 7spd bike and get a brand new 10spd bike is an option. Might be cheaper than part by part upgrades too. I think there are Exitway brand bikes that comes with 10spd SLX group set for 2k plus? 3k nego.saw it at JW Cyclist In Sri Rampai.Comes with SLX 10 speedAt 600 price range hydros, I consider pretty good Dee.. Those brakes can easily do 1 finger endo liow... This post has been edited by dinraxxx: Apr 28 2011, 01:32 PM |
