meaning they actually banked in a cheque for you? it's a cheque so you wouldn't know if its the outlet or SME that banked in for you lols.

In my bank statement stated "cheque float" on thursday, then the next day i check my bank account again it show "cheque clear amount 2879.1". So i assume the outlet directly issue cheque and not SME doing the refund?

you returned at service centre on upper floor or their sales centre below?
Apparently when I called them they did split between two centre each have different people in charge.
I returned mine to the lower floor sales centre.

Usually major companies are using cheque to deal with "refund" or "cashback" .

Mine was handled at the sales counter, not upper stairs service centre.

Somehow the Maxis staff told me if I am in overseas, I can return the phone in any airport and get a letter to demand for refund in Malaysia.
